After several years in quiet pre-production, we’re proud to finally announce what we hope will fill the last Half-Life-remake-shaped hole in our collective hearts: Our team, PSR Digital, is officially working on Peer Review, a re-imagining of the Half-Life expansion, HalfLife: Decay, in the Source Engine. There have been several attempts at Half-Life: Decay remakes in the past. So far, none of them have borne fruit. We’re hoping to change that.

In addition, we're looking for all sorts of volunteers who would be willing to help contribute to the project. We need people who can help us fill just about every kind of role in game development, from level designers and 2D artists, to writers and sound designers... whatever! Shoot us an application if you're interested. If you're feeling adventurous, feel free to apply to multiple positions, if you like.
Note: Currently, the only positions we are not actively looking to fill (at the moment) are Voice Actors and Playtesters. We will let you know in the future when we’re ready to begin recruiting for those roles!
If you don't think you're up to the task of directly helping us, that's fine too! But if you know anyone at all who might be interested in helping us out, please send them our way. We're gonna need all the help we can get, and your referral will help wonders with our ability to produce awesome work!
Thank you, and have a very safe, and productive, day.
Well, you've went further than any other decay remake i've seen so far. Good job!
Looks pretty good so far! I hope the crane part is changed so that the player won't stand on top of a physics prop because they always feel horrible to move and jump from in a multiplayer environment. You can even see that in the video when the player is trying to jump off the crate.
Yeah, physics props aren't the best when it comes to networking. We're definitely looking into ways to solve or circumvent issues like that.
Looking good! I do hope you're keeping the characters personality throught their voice lines too, since Gina is more pragmatic and calm than her friend colette which has a more excitable personality.
Looks amazing! I'd love to help, but I don't think I'm really good enough to contribute anything worthwhile. Good luck on the mod!
Everything looks gorgeous. Only complaint I may have is that the weapon animations look a little stiff
Thankies! Yeah, our team currently lacks animators, so everything had to be done by our general level design and 3D guys. We're accepting applications if you or anyone you know can animate!
Absolutely, and we actually have ideas on how to reflect that in more than just voice lines.
Do you need somebody to write music? I could write some moody piano stuff or whatever. I'm definitely really liking what I see otherwise! I know it's an early proof of concept and a lot will change, but it'd be cool if you could maybe change the M4's gun sound to something more punchy if possible.
Keep it up!
both the M4A1 Carbine and the MP5 are currently planned to be available as weapons in Peer Review.
By that do you mean they will be separate weapons, or will there be an option to swap HD pack based models with SD models like in the original Half-Life?

There are issues with simply having straight aesthetic model swaps between the M4 and the MP5 (mostly gameplay-related). Specifically, the M4A1 Carbine is a fundamentally different weapon from an MP5, and playing with an M4 that shoots like an MP5 or vice versa has always felt incredibly wrong in our playtests.
That's about all I can really say for now, but rest assured that we have some plans that should hopefully satisfy fans of both the HD and SD weapon packs! (Personally, I'm more of a fan of the SD weapons than the HD weapons, myself.)
