PREVIOUSLY, on TF2 Chat and Speculation 2018:
Blue Moon Update (March 28 Patch) Revamped the in-game Competitive system to be based off the Glicko System in CS:GO.
Casual also uses Glicko system, but levels aren't taken into account for matchmaking.
ctf_sawmill, ctf_well, cp_5gorge, ctf_2fort_invasion, and ctf_foundry have been added to Casual mode.
You can now Queue for multiple modes at the same time, and also Queqe while you play different modes(Casual, Comp, MvM, Community)
If you Queue at the same time into different modes, accepting the first match will cancel the others.
Blue Moon Case Added 19 new cosmetic items
Multiple weapon Fixes and tweaks to the changes introduced in Jungle Inferno
Dragon's Fury, Hot Hand, Gas Passer, Thermal Thruster and Second Banana now drop as regular items. can still be obtained as contract rewards.
Still not available in Strange variant.
Lagbots have been taken down so far by means of automatically being booted from servers if too many commands are issued (currently the only way to do this is by means of using scripts ).
Streamers seen to finally be able to play the game without chances of getting DDOS during their stream.
The only content added to the game has been Tournament Medals as of August 2018
Insomnia63
TF's Birthday went by (August 24th). The team completely forgot to acknowledge this.
As of Sept 2018 Radio silence from the TF Team remains active.
TF2 Outpost Is closing forever.
Delfy, popular YouTuber known for making videos about exploits and harassment, apologized on Reddit and promised to "quit making exploit videos altogether"
As of October 10th, 2018, Team Fortress 2(on its original Orange Box Release) became 11 years old.
TIp of the Hats 2018 raised a grand total of $223,523
Scream Fortress X Arrived (October 19th patch)
5 new comunity maps: Cauldron, Gravestone, Monster Bash, Slasher, and Cursed Cove
New cosmetic case: Violet Vermin. includes 20 new cosmetic items
New halloween effects were also added (11 effects for hats, 6 for taunts)
New community war paints case: Scream Fortress X. Includes 10 new Halloween war paints.
2 new valve-made taunts: Panzer Pants and Scooty Scoot. Panzer pants has a leak memory issue and crashes entire servers on launch day. (it was eventually fixed)
Merasmissions now include the new maps added in the update. all previously completed merasmissions were reset and can be completed again.
Fix: sticky bombs no longer deal damage through thin walls.
Three more patches were relased afterwards, fixing several isues related to the event: map issues and problems.

-No news about the last issue of the comics, and so far no news about anything Valve-wise. (But we have a nice ARTIFACT comic!)
-DDOS protection for valve servers and other improvements are supposedly active, but nothing official has been announced.
-Due to the lack of content, MUS posters have begun to attack each other like ravenous dogs desperate for food.

I think the discussion about the game is slowly being diverted into between posters arguing with eachother,no matter the case of who is right or wrong we should try to have a discussion without trying kill each other.
I had the best night of TF2 ever this evening, and by "best" I mean "fantastically lousy."
Game 1: Community server. Ostensibly for trading. Mostly for really bad snipers, like myself. I join and one player is dominating the killfeed. The regulars are squeaking away on the mic as if it's no big deal. I move to spectate. He's BLATANTLY cheating. I call him out. The users squeak back "we know." I begin mocking him. He speaks. He's got a fantastic Greg Brady cracking middle school voice. His name is "Nutsack." I begin berating him verbally, suggesting maybe he should refrain from using that name until his own balls have dropped. He stops rage hacking long enough to attempt a response, but soon goes back to auto-headshotting. I leave.
Game 2: Community server. SourceOP 2Fort. It's nearly full. I join and go kritz medic, because why not. I get uber and try to get a mostly stock Heavy to follow me into the sewer. People are discussing Skial in text chat. I see an admin sm_hsay message making a joke about the Skial watermark. I mention that it's nice to see an admin presence on SouceOP and it'd be even nicer to see it when any one of the small army of cheaters that frequent it is around. I play a bit more and the server times out on me. I tries to re-connect three times before giving up.
Game 3: Casual, Doublecross. Game is a 3 v 9. I'm on the 3. Enemies have capped once already, have a nest in our intel, and we're being spawn camped by a Tomislav heavy with a medic up his ass. Lower spawn door is sticky trapped (as I learn too late.) Enemy team seems to mostly consist of people who taunt on kill. I exit from spawn to the sewer (the one exit cannot be stickied) just as the second cap happens. I die to a Scout with cap crits. The matchmaking system adds more players to the WINING team. It's now 4 v 12. Intel gets picked up. I know it's over soon. I manage to kill the Heavy's pocket with a crit melee hit, but die to a full charge machina bodyshot from a sniper outside our front door. Blissfully the final cap happens while I'm waiting to respawn, sparing me one more shitty death.
Game 4: Same casual instance. I rarely play Sniper, but I take out my own Machina and camp my courtyard. I know Doublecross better than the dude who made it. Sure enough, Heavy/Medic pair saunter in our front door. Full charge shot takes out the medic and greatly upsets the Heavy. Medic calls me an N-word fucker. okaybro.jpg Long and grueling game unfolds where we eventually get some intel defense, but the enemy controls literally the rest of the map. They have a teleporter behind out kill shack for the entire game and a L3 sentry outside our front door for most of it. I do reasonably well, mostly because I've spent more time inside my own base on DC than most people have spent playing video games. The war of attrition eventually causes us to lost 3-0. It was not remotely fun.
Game 5: The players vote for 2Fort. Trash talking spawn campers depart. The games goes on for ages with only one cap. There's one player on the enemy team. He's not F2P. In fact, he's got a bunch of fresh stranges. Some still untradable because of the SCM. Some with a few hundred kills on them. He's getting a lot of new-ish achievements. He's got some insane tracking as Heavy and reflects literally everything as pyro. He actually got the Bloody Merry achievement as me when he had the sewers trapped. At first I don't know what to think, but I become more suspicious. He detonates sticky traps when he can't see me. He does some nutball off-angle reflects (which are technically possibly because of the way airblast works, but are unlikely in actual play. I ask in team chat if people think he's legit. Of course, I cannot move to spectate to actually SEE if he is or not. After getting mowed down by him one more time I call him out in global text chat. I get back the usual "you're just salty you're getting destroyed." Not even from him, but from his pocket medic. This shit continues for another 20 minutes. The cheater never quite manages to dominate me, even though he's clearly focusing me at this point. He starts sniping with the piss rifle.
I've noticed something recently, a bunch of "legit" hackers are using the Sleeper. It now minicrits on headshot, but Valve have changed the weapon so damn many times even seasoned players forget. I had to double check myself. I noticed when the cheater 1-shot me when I was a full health soldier. Suspicious headshots are fairly easy to spot, but in the chaos of a full server who notices if a Sleeper sniper is mini-critting you or not? The cheater's team still refuses to kick him, so I say the hell with it an disconnect.
There are 3 things going on here. One is a string of bad luck. The other is the fantastically sorry state of Valve's game, and their ...celestial quantity of not giving a fuck about it. The final one is my stubbornness about keeping playing when I back out. I can only fix one of these.
TF2 has pretty good player numbers when compared to probably 97% of multiplayer games on the market. It's even more impressive when you consider how old it is, there are few games as old or older that are doing as well.
What's disappointing is we know it could be doing better. CSGO and Dota do a lot better and it's frustrating to see TF2 only get a fraction of the player base of those games. I would love to see Valve focus on growing the game, I know I would be really happy if we could even double the average concurrent player count it currently has.
Controversial opinion time:
I want the old sandman back (but not the sandman+cleaver combo).
More controversial: I want both back.
What if the bleed of the wrap assassin or boston basher could combine with the bleed of the cleaver to create some sort super bleed that deals more damage over time?
That's literally what it does right now.
both bleed weapons deal their bleed instead of resetting one-another.
I never knew that,thanks.
Most controversial:
I want the original original sandman back. Scout can´t doublejump and it stuns through uber.
Not really
I want the combo back in some way but no stuns.
i mean at least the downside was non-negligible
they could increase liberty launcher damage by 5% and it would be a good weapon fuck
I still really like my idea for the Loch-n-Load to try and make it balanced where singular pipes deal less damage, but two pipes in a row deal current absurd damage.
+ Projectiles mini-crit on second hit in .5 seconds
+25% projectile speed
-50% clip size
-25% explosion radius
Launched bombs shatter on surfaces
Basically base Loch's 2-pill clip size and current Loch's damage bonus being locked behind a requirement (instead of just against buildings, you have to hit both pills)
I'm open to other ways to try and balance Loch and its 2-pill mag size. Playing current loch isn't bad but its 3-pill mag when it's explictly designed to be only a two-pill mag launcher is very grating
why would u want a weapon which is significantly easier to use to be good though?
if the drawbacks are there, it can work
fan and huntsman for instance
Alright. Positive discussion time. What's one thing about TF2, currently in game, that you like?
When it comes to cosmetics, the ones added with the Love and War are my favorite.
The satisfaction I get from landing a pipe is probably the thing I like the most about TF2 and probably the only reason I still play Demoman.

No other class based or hero shooter can top the satisfaction that comes from playing the TF2 classes. Something about the way they are designed makes you feel amazingly powerful.
Pretty much all the "How it feels" videos are correct.
Still genuinely surprised that Sonic didn't get any other representatives yet. Tails, Shadow, Knuckles, even Blaze or Silver. Give me some of the furry friends that I grew up with. I know it isn't an ego issue like Squenix, Nintendo and Sega are practically buddies at this point.
Where the fuck is my strange Banana/Dragon's Fury at?
They're right next to the strange Tide Turner, just behind the strange Hot Hand, Sharpened Volcano Fragment, Sun on a Stock, and the God Damn Eureka Effect Strangifier. Now shut up and start dreaming about the new cosmetic case coming out for Smissmas! It'll have 20 new tiered cosmetics, including an Elite grade one that will be popular with furries. You can look forward to the same unusual effects that have become ubiquitous (and tanked in value) since the 2016 unlocked crates arrived. All unsuals will be "Hat" equip region only. If you're lucky, you'll get few "Whole Head" items that can be stacked with hats in a clippy mess. Get excited for a new Smissmas 2017 War Paint case with several skins that are actually nice looking in Factory New but shit otherwise. You might even unbox an unusual variant in one of the 3 tired as fuck effects that have been around since Gun Mettle. Also, I shouldn't reveal this, but the TF2 team are excited to announce a new nerf to Heavy is in the works. Hint: It will make it easier for Scout to Counter Heavy in close quarters. Stay tuned!
Both of those weapons are brainless grief tools that lower the skill ceiling of whatever environment features them.
Not only are thier stock counterparts competitively superior, but they create luck-based cheese deaths for enemies, while robbing your team of your class’s full potential.
One-shot gimmick weapons like that need to be reworked entirely with new stats.
huntsman is fun go away
just needs a range limit to separate the ones that know what they're doing and jose spamming the same 14 arrows into a wall around a corner for 31:27 minutes
but neither of these weapons are good
as long as it gets the job done im sure no one really cares they're downgrades when 95% players will never go above pub level.
How can you make a projectile with big burst damage skillful, like the Cleaver or the Huntsman? For the start, I think the projectile bounding box has to be reduced.
you think wrong. Killing a weapon doesn't make it more skillfull, it makes it just not equipped and ever seen again.
