https://www.vox.com/policy-and-politics/2018/12/3/18122947/pentagon-accounting-error-medicare-for-all  Indeed, there simply hasn’t been $21 trillion in (nominal) Defense Department spending across the entirety of American history. Such an airhead for someone with a degree in economics while being cum laude
lmao you're really upset about her election, aren't you?
"hehe bro u mad?" Is that the play Cap? lol
Burden of proof is on you why you think Cortez is so bad.
Lol, 5 mins and ppl rather talk about me than the article
Anyone else would be demolished for mistakes this stupid.
So can you actually defend your points at all? Every time I see a post from you it's basically a steretypical Trumpet post which is why people don't really take it seriously. Then you respond like this every single time, if you bother responding at all, and now you're acting like somehow it's not a result of your actions. If you want people to take your views seriously try presenting them in a serious manner.
wow what a pissy article. "virtually no progress has been made as to how to pay for it all." seems as at odds with reality as the 21 trillion figure they spent 2 paragraphs explaining. There are plenty of healthcare systems we could theoretically copy, there are over a dozen plausible ways to fund it, and several proposed bills, not to mention the think tanks and legislation drafting groups out there that have inevitably put some thought into this.
I once saw Cortez buying a slightly nicer than normal shirt at walmat. I thought she was POOR, literally a fraud tbh, #VoteHerOut!
You know why no progress has been made regarding sorting out how the government will pay for universal health insurance? Because we've never even had a fucking bill proposed in the house thus far. You can't argue it won't work before we've even tried, because there is no clear consensus from studies as to whether it will be more or less expensive than our existing system. And even if is more expensive, well, that's the price you pay for ensuring everyone can afford proper medical care. And you know how you pay for expenses? You tax corporations and the wealthy and.... oh, wait, we can't have that, can we? No, definitely not. And we sure can't spend less on our massively bloated and wasteful military, either. Might as well just stay the course then, no matter how many people die and/or go broken from getting sick and injured in this country.
Wait you don’t care when other people make air head remarks so why do you care here?
I'll be honest, I'm not impressed with Ocasio-Cortez whatsoever. I don't see the big deal about her. She doesn't seem that great. But the Republicans propping her up as public enemy #1 makes me think she might be on to something they don't like. And usually if the Republicans don't like something it's because it benefits Democracy in any way whatsoever.
I wouldn't be suprised if some blowhard like Limbaugh says something to the effect that she should be popping out babies and in the kitchen. I think she's just so young and a woman and not filthy rich they can't fathom how she got into their club.
Please point one out.
i love how in these threads. You show up in a half-assed attempt to appear like the "Smart one". Even though you have an abysmal history of spewing vague bullshit, incorrect garbage, and being extremely biased.
ya it can. https://d3n8a8pro7vhmx.cloudfront.net/newshounds/pages/11295/attachments/original/1533084297/Regan_073118.png?1533084297 who's worse?
Our fucking president certainly hasn't.
I love how this has nothing to do with me being wrong. Agreed, he says stupid things all the time too.
Okay then, let's talk about the article. The article points out her mistake and explains why it's inaccurate, but it also points out that OAC's policy knowlege is not actually out of line with the typical Congressman, so it's funny how you conveniently missed that. The article then railed on Congressmen who willingly drive the United States further into debt with military budget increases but are unwilling to do the same to end child poverty or make preschool and public college free with those same funds. At the end it points out that one of the hardest parts of public healthcare is talking about how it will be paid for, because Americans have become so tax averse that any mention of new taxes immediately kills all momentum for the idea. My opinion? That's a fault with public perception rather than public healthcare, taxes will go up but your insurance bill will be eliminated. You will have better coverage than a shady insurance company would give you, and you won't have to worry about premiums when deciding whether to see the doctor or not. And with the government being the only major buyer of healthcare, the massively inflated medical costs can be dropped by negotiating more reasonable prices. We have people in Congress claiming climate change isn't real because it's cold out. I think I can forgive a first-time congresswoman who isn't even sworn in yet for tweeting a mistake.
Not to mention that there'd be no more "sorry, but that doctor/specialist is out-of-network!" bullshit.
Is calling her an air head the only thing your slack jaw little monkey brain can come up with? If you're going to stick to your alt-right position, at least bring out the big guns. You're already wearing your prejudice on your sleeve, you aren't fooling anyone except maybe yourself
Wait what, I thought the US government was entirely ran by tweets.
We've spent 55 Trillion dollars on our defense budget just since 1996, dude
This is an entirely subjective line I could draw as well. People, even smart and qualified people make mistakes. It’s the repetition of mistakes I worry about most, so I’m not sure why you’d hold her feet to the fire but not the tons of republicans who fundamentally don’t know how climate change, the internet, the military, budgetary oversight, budgetary balance(I mean the GOP idolizes Reagan, a slash taxes and increase spending kinda guy) so really, I feel you’re coming from a very hollow place here
Fiscal responsibility only applies to Democrats.
Boy if you think Cortez is an idiot wait until you hear about this trump guy

Representative of all Canadians' thoughts and feelings on the matter, except for the alt-right crowd which is of course in on the Trump cult and claiming we need that up here.
This isnt a hit/scare piece, Matthew Yglesias is a radical liberal and Vox’s offical position is definitely that single payer healthcare is much better than market place healhcare. Hes just explaining the situation. Lets read the article next time before seeing any critical headline against AOC as an attack.
