New RAM stick maybe-DOA, seeking suggestions before returning it

Hello folks, I just received my order of one Kingston HyperX Fury DDR4-2400 SC 8GB stick of RAM, to complement the one of exact same make and model I already had in my PC. After installation, PC won't boot. I have tried the following:
Only old stick installed - PC boots as usual
Both sticks installed in dual-channel setup - PC won't boot, motherboard gives RAM error
Both sticks installed in 2x non-dual-channel setup - PC won't boot, motherboard gives RAM error
No stick installed - PC won't boot, no motherboard error (Big shock there, I know)
Only new stick installed - PC won't boot, no motherboard error
Anyone have any other suggestions on what to do, or should I just send it back to the shop and tell 'em to go fuck themselves and order elsewhere (Not first time I've had issues with this supplier, not sure why I keep ordering from them)?
have you tried clearing the cmos before booting so it resets all the settings you had before?
Speccy is horribly outdated and inaccurate nowadays, try something like HWMonitor for some better info
Those aren't even used for the same purpose.
I've reset to factory settings in the BIOS, not sure if that's the same thing? I looked for a cmos-resetter on the mobo, but couldn't find it.
It's the same thing essentially, the jumper can be a little bit of a pain to find do you still have your mother board manual?
Yeah, it's around here somewhere. Probably.
Well i could suggest memtest but i think it's a bad ram stick
RMA it, less headache.
Well, tested in a second PC, they are absolutely dead. Gonna return 'em. Everybody gets a coin for their help, first to suggest 'return that shit' gets the bounty. Thanks, boys and possibly girls!
