• Of game difficulty and overpowered characters

I was watching a handful of videos recently and a topic came to mind that I thought might provide interesting results. In a game let's say there's a number of playable characters - we'll say four - and a number of bosses or levels that are quite difficult. 3 Characters of the four have movesets that require you to learn the level layouts and the bosses patterns, but the fourth character completely breaks this by having i-frames on everything, insane damage, whatever buffs you can think of. This character isn't billed as a easy mode- the game just gives you the option if you want it. Would you say that choosing the fourth character is comparable to cheating? Would said player be justified in going "Pshh the game was a cakewalk, absolutely no challenge." When they willingly picked the one option that makes it a breeze? Using my expierence with the video as a example; I saw that the person playing would struggle with the game and die several times to bosses or the stages itself, and rushed to the easy character when the option presented itself. Upon clearing the game with no troubles he announced "Haha people find this hard? It was so easy!" Would you say this is a fair call despite the fact the player was struggling wildly without the crutch?
Every time you pick Meta Knight in Brawl or Bayonetta in Smash 4, Sakurai delays Waluigi in Smash
