A very short article:
President Miloš Zeman told TV Barrandov in a hard-hitting interview on Thursday, that the Security Information Service (BIS) were behaving like amateurs. In response to a question about foreign activity in the country, Zeman suggested that the service had been talking about the increasing activity of Russian and Chinese spies in the country for years but was still unable to catch one spy.
Zeman added that the BIS failed to catch a real terrorist when the opportunity existed, referring to Samer Shehadeh, the former Prague Imam who was radicalized, and was accused of financing terrorism earlier this year.
There aren't really many sources about this in English, but there are a lot more available in Czech. There's been a considerable backlash against his statement from other politicians, including the ones that usually support him.
If you can't remember who he is; He's our drunken and frail pro-Russian and anti-immigration president. After Russia accused several countries of producing Novichok, he was the one who immediately began claiming it was true and asked the Security Information Service (BIS) to investigate. He's also promised the country billions of dollars worth of Chinese investments. His Chinese investment advisor (or whatever the position was) was arrested in China for corruption and bribery just a few months back. He's also the same guy who promised our current prime minister that if he were removed from his position, he'd simply nominate him for the position again.
If I find a better source with more information, I'll add it to the OP.
I can't think of any other world leaders who criticise their intelligence agencies in respect to Russian influence.
Nope. I've got nothing.
Well, at least it's good to see backlash against this sort of behaviour. How popular is this guy in Czech Rep.?
He's got around 55% approval.
Hmm, seems like Czech's public is just as blind as America's then.
Is Eastern European culture just based around self destructive behavior like excessive drinking?
sounds familiar...
it's almost like people are not fundamentally different anywhere
Fuck me if I'm remembering wrong, but doesn't the Czech Republic (Czechia? Which one is correct these days, I've seen the latter more often lately) have like less than 5% non-whites?
Shout out to that time he explained what "pussy" means on live TV when the whole Pussy Riot thing was going down and I about had a stroke from it.
czechia is the official short name
Bubblebum. Never forget.

With enough drive and effort, you can still build that insignificant minority into a country-ending white genocide conspiracy narrative.
wow when I just started reading that I thought you worked for ISIS
"Czech Republic Demographics
64% of the Czech Republic's population is Czech, followed by Moravians (5%), Slovaks (1.4%), Poles (0.4%) and Germans (0.2%). At the last census in 2011, "nationality" was optional and about 26% left this blank. It's estimated that the Czech Republic is home to 250,000 Romani people, as well as 440,000 foreigners, the largest group being Ukranian (140,000) followed by Slovak, Vietnamese, Russian and Polish."
But yeah, I think so. I wouldn't be suprised if it were true. Yet most still believe that there is now more "brown people" here than whites. They think this country has already accepted more refugees than any other country and that we're the ones suffering the most, which is why we need to put up barbed wire around our borders, build machine gun posts and mow down all the crowds of dirty immigrants who would dare come here (This is my older brother's opinion. He's 34 and until very recently, he's not been a very violent person who would say such things. The current political climate really fucked up many people I know)
Just a funny thing that happened to me at work today. One of my co-workers(she's actually the head of our logistics department and she's in her late 40's or early 50's) was absolutely shocked when I walked into her office and she started asking me "Oh my god, have you always had a beard or have you only recently grown it. Don't take it wrong, but you look like an Arab. You have a beard and darker complexion, your nose is kind of big and middle eastern looking. I am not saying you are bad looking or something, I'm just saying that if I were to meet you somewhere at night, I'd be ready to start running away." and then she told me "I was sitting in church the other day and the guy next to me was an Arab. A Syrian, probably. Proper beard and all that and I was very uneasy. Now you're looking kind of scary as well. Don't want you bringing any bomb belts or such here."
Fucking what? I look like this. I'm incredibly pale, because I rarely go out and my friends and family keep reminding me of that all the time. If people start lynching Arabs or any foreign-looking people, I guess I'll be an easy mark.

And this is what this fucker Zeman does. He's making such people believe that there's an imminent threat to their life, that the country has already been besieged by hungry and violent hordes of Arab raiders. Meanwhile, usually all that happens here is that the police find an abandoned freezer truck with dead refugees inside, because that's what the smugglers do. I guess they either do it on purpose, because they got paid anyway and don't really care about the fates of those people, or they feel like they might get busted soon and they ditch the truck somewhere and run away.
All these fucking populist leaders trying outdo each other to become the new Führer. I'm not saying it's going to happen in a few weeks, months nor years, but we'll get to that point eventually... and at the current rate - probably sooner rather than later.
As a Middle Eastern looking dude and working for a parcel delivery company...
I'd never think I could hear so many "I hope there's no bomb in this LOL" jokes in a single week.
To be honest with you, @Shier , this is the first time for me. I had no even where it even came from. And I was left almost speechless - I had great respect for many of my co-workers and I thought they were sensible and intelligent people, but the more I interact with them, the more I get to know their opinions and I'm absolutely horrified.
Oh yeah and btw. I found a better source, so the OP has been updated.
