"His offenses strike at several pillars of our society and system of government: the payment of taxes; transparent and fair elections; and truthfulness before government and in business."
damn, was this guy eating fetuses and newborns to hide evidence of Trump's affairs?
I'm sure Cohen was in no way instructed to do this by Trump, and was solely operating as a rogue lawyer to subvert our democracy.
Offences against "fair and transparent elections" seem pretty damning for whoever his client might have been at the time. If only we knew who that might have been...
If Cohen's going down for it, Trump would be, too, if not for the fact that he's a sitting president right now

Who could this be 🤔
Just to make it crystal clear, New York federal prosecutors concluded
that the President of the United States committed a felony.

Probably Obama. Obama had become president by 2017.
And this wasn't even the bombshell people were hoping for. The Manafort memos are still to come.
Fantastic birthday present, thanks Bobby Three Sticks
Lying to the public as a government official should be a straight up purgery of office crime outright imo.

I don't think there'd be anyone left in the Capitol Building but the janitor.
I'm sure there's a legitimate reason or three to lie to the public, in withholding information, but this sure as shit isn't one of them

Well, pack it up boys. Can't do anything about this
It's interesting because I had always assumed that Flynn's crimes were more severe seeing as they seemed to be betrayal of the country in favor of other nation's interests, whereas Cohen's seemed more financial and fraud related. (Aside from the actual Russia collusion, at which level they're probably equal.) But here Flynn is getting recommended no jailtime, while they're throwing the book at Cohen. Is it because Flynn came forward first, or has been more cooperative, or because in our mighty capitalist society the money crimes are the weightier sin?
lawyers using their position to do illegal shit is seen by many in the legal profession to be as bad as doctors abusing their position, though its ironic since there certainly isn't a hippocratic oath in the legal world.
might be the weight of the information, too
What planet is this moron from? Is he seeing everything that we're seeing?
I have to wonder how much of his own bullshit the man actually believes.
By that logic Trump will be sentenced to eleventy billion years in prison for daily lies on Twitter.
The entire GOP might fracture (wishful thinking), but anyone in the Senate actually going to jail for being complicit would not happen unless they're directly mentioned in the papers. Trump and Co. are
stupid, but the GOP in the Senate are not and have spent years fucking with the system like this so that only vigilantes can take them down.
