I managed to break my phone and I have steam authenticator on

well as you can read in the titile i managed to break my phone. I was going to go to the denzel curry concert in stockholm but i was way too drunk to be let in. so instead i went
to my aunt and waited for my dad to come pick me up, my dad came and i went to the bathroom to pee. before peeing i was going to text my friend "im at my aunts
house, sorry for drinking too much" but when i was gonna message him on my phone i dropped it in the toilet and it broke. (ultimate facepalm). now my phone barely works at
all and im gonna buy a new one tomorrow. but what im wondering is, will i be able to log into steam with a new phone number? im online right now, so i wont turn my computer off obviosuly. but what if if buy a new phone that gets a new number. will i be able to sign in?

i feel so incredibly dumb right now

You don't need a new number, just take the SIM card out of your current phone and put it in the new one, that way you should be able to recover the account with a text message more easily, plus you won't have to message everyone telling them you have a new number

Can't hurt to try, just dry it overnight on a radiator or something so that it won't have a chance to corrode from the moisture

ive put it in rice, thats about the extent my technical knowledge dont have a radiator either way

Yeah, a sim card should be able to survive a bit of water. The cpu inside is sealed to kingdom come

Don't need to, you can request a new one, had a phone get stolen and managed to get both my numbers back.
