This kids, is why you read the NDA.
Also, common sense.
good for him
Maybe the streamer was hoping EA had too.
It's hard to feel sorry for them tbh.
Im just suprised how quickly the plug got pulled.
The streamer getting his library deleted is unironically more newsworthy than Anthem ever would be.
The game is actually pretty damn fun rip my NDA
I mean I feel like he's an idiot for breaking the NDA, but I don't like what this means for the line between owning games and owning 'access' to games. If they can justifiably wipe an entire library of games bought independently of the NDA contract through their service because of a breach of the NDA contract.
I was thinking of this too. If the NDA or EULA didn't say anything about terminating account access, this guy may have some kind of case against EA.
I remember this happening to someone on reddit recently too, they had their account closed for some reason or another (I think the guy's real name was Jihad) and when EA reopened the account all the games he paid for were gone.
My guess his account actually got banned, not his games removed.
Although in the end that is sorta the same end result.
This might have been just some other error, considering he terminated his origin client who knows what actually happened.
Maybe it takes a little to actually get the ban through, taking the game out was just a solution to stop him playing right away?
Either way, I don't actually think that the NDA would have a specific clause about loosing all games but not your account.
It would just be a ban as the NDA and game was connected to his Origin account.
Breaking an NDA means (usually) you are fined half a years worth of pay and blacklisted from the industry
Getting all your origin games removed is not much in comparison
The NDA was VERY clear about the consequences. They weren't screwing around this time. This is a direct consequence of breaking the NDA. He has no ground to stand on.
Or so I've heard.
O I get that I'm just concerned as a normal user about the legality of Origin being able to delete an entire library of purchased games as a penalty, essentially taking back property some user owns as a sort of repossession, kind of blurring the lines between who really owns property bought through their store. This is under the assumption the property that was deleted was bought independent of the rules of a seperate NDA.
False flag operation to remind everyone about the hot new title Anthem.
Staged mouse movements at the end confirm this, very unnatural.
You're also overlooking that Anthem might have been the only game in the library, breaking the NDA resulting in removal of it would in turn make their entire library empty.
They're likely just removing access to it for those who break the agreement.
I would like to
Streamer doesn't seem so phased the least bit about being struck by NDA live. The streamer is going as far as showing everyone their email and their library after the fact.
Dude probably used a burner account so as not to lose so much just for showing the world one game.
I don’t even care about it but your attitude just makes me laugh
not in a good way eitherc
My thoughts exactly.
Looks more like a publicity stunt than anything.
The fact you think it's an 'attitude' at all is probably pretty endemic to why you keep getting banned. Perhaps you should concentrate on why an opinion exists instead of trying to "correct" a completely subjective paradigm.
EA's NDAs are absurdly comprehensive and the result of over thirty years of litigatory experience, and you're given rather ample opportunity to read and go over every point. The streamer has neither precedent nor context in their favor, and they most certainly do not 'have a case.'
If the game was somehow damaging hardware is about the only precedent that would allow for the behavior displayed.
Considering the only game I have on Origin that I care about is Titanfall 2, sign me up EA!
Totally won't break NDA while giving an honest opinion on if the game is good or not.
Lol I’ll take advice on how to post less angrily from someone’s less angry
I remember breaking the NDA on Evolve to warn people off it and predicting exactly what its fate was.
Not the only game I've broken NDA for, some for good games and some for bad.
In other words, the fact that they've set precedents for having people by the balls for three decades and no one's had a powerful enough legal team to stand up to them makes it okay to do because "it's the status quo and we're in charge, deal with it"?

this doesnt even seem legit
I've honestly broken NDA for almost every beta I've signed up for. No consequences, because I'm not a bong and broadcast it to the whole world. I just show friends screenshots/discord streams of shit and answer questions.
