Hello, i build a cave base and i was wondering with the new electricity patch is there a way to get power down to the cave? Because solarpanels are not gonna work down there probably (havent tried it) and windmills are not gonne fit (tried it).
If you cant get power down then it would be nice if u had a generator of sort that uses lowgrade to get power.
Hope someone can help me light up this darkness :P
I haven't had a chance to mess around with electricity yet, but the blog mentions a small and a large battery. Maybe you can charge them up in an above-ground solar/wind powered small base and take it down to your cave base?
true but was just wondering if it was possible to use it in a cave
No. You can't. Batteries lose all their charge when you pick them up.
OP, you're out of luck. You can't wire the cables down unless you find some way to install lamps on the cave sections before the building area to use as passthrough.
I was messing around with the new electrical components last night and one thing comes to mind, if you just happen to get lucky enough for the roof of the buildable area to be close enough to the ground above, wires do clip through structures and may clip through the terrain enabling you to have an above ground source and connect it to your system in the cave?
If your goal is to have lights on during the day time, that would be your best bet. Batteries may be useless, but for something like that, you could probably just connect the panel directly, assuming you're physically capable of it. To keep them on at night in such a setup, you'd need to split the output into two batteries while having the third actually power your lamps. Then you manually switch to battery power when the lights go since, as I've pointed out, having batteries putting out any power actively drains them no matter what you do. It's all overly-complicated.
