Ian's a good dude, really deserves the success.

Definitely deserves his success. His videos are the best firearm videos I've ever watched tbh.
Praise Gun Jesus!
I initially found him while looking for reference for obscure gun actions and stayed for the really high quality content he makes.
I wonder what the draw for most other people is. I'm glad he's doing so well but it seems so unlikely
Drinks all around!
Also on the subject of the French 75, that gun is downright prolific, got used all over the world, served as the main armament on the Saint Chamond assault gun, was the basis for the American M2 M3 and M6 tank guns of World War 2 (these were the main guns on the Lee, Sherman, and Chaffee respectively), and the guns are actually still often around either as display or ceremonial pieces.

If we're allowed to turn this into an Ian meme shitposting general,

I'll probably never own a gun myself, but what draws me in is when he talks about the history of the weapon and such. Most of it is something you probably won't find on a wikipedia page, which just makes it even more so interesting.
I guess you might say he's a ouiaboo

Does anyone have that video of someone lining up all the "hey guys ian from forgotten weapons" into one video and its just fucking beautiful?
I put on a video and it's usually the first 3-4 minutes and the last 1-2 minutes that I care about when he talks about the history of the gun and gives an overview of the gun, once he opens up the gun and starts pointing out all the mechanical details I either skip or just don't really pay attention because I don't understand any of it anyways.
Despite that I watch basically all of his videos because I just enjoy seeing the guns and hearing a little bit about them and Ian is just a super cool dude.

Ian himself commented on the video too.
