• Did they remove the addon section for the Garry's Mod forum?

I'm trying to look for some addon releases for Garry's Mod like I used to, but I can't find them on here anymore.
They removed all sections besides Developers and Help. The Main Gmod section is now the place where people post everything
Why!?
Probably because not so many addons or gamemodes get advertised on here as they were in previous years. Back in GMod 12, Facepunch had loads of addon and gamemode threads and they were separated into their own subforums but with the workshop in GMod 13, not as many addons are released anymore. Besides that, a lot of the bigger modders quit coding for GMod so they don't produce addons or gamemodes anymore. Many of the other subforums were likely merged for the same reason.
stop making me cry
It's depressing I know. I'm saddened by it as well.
We need S&Box.
Nothing quite that complicated, Garry just had a hissy fit.
Garry's Mod is a lot less of a tightly knit community of modders and players than it was a few years ago. It seems the bond between modders and players has been broken and pushed apart, with discussions being confined to individual community forums/discords or on workshop pages that just get flooded with Bob and people asking the same "I have errors" questions. Most people are only interested in TTT or RP as well, so fun sandbox toys are quite pointless to produce. RP maps are a huge time consumer so doing them without any incentive is pretty tough for seasoned mappers. Gmod isn't the way it used to be. Maybe we just have to adapt to it and hold on to what we have left of the "Golden Years".
Go to the comments section of any addon and tell me there's a god. There's a reason the old timers are gone and it's partially related.
Yeah... At one point, I had unsubscribed to the comments of Rockford. People always bitched "There's errors everywhere." I started asking people to post pictures and they'd never respond, presumable cause they realized they forgot to mount CS:S or didn't restart gmod after subscribing to the content pack and fixed their own bugs. I kinda wish the comments on the workshop went the same way as YouTube comments where people could like other peoples comments and the top liked comments are the first few there. Would make the comments section less obsolete at least.
I had a to tell 6 people that snow, is a combination of rain and cold. 3 people that server settings require superadmin. 2 people that day and night is tied to time. 1 person that I can't recreate source engine to support "better light". 2 people that I can't create shaders. 13 people that the FAQ exists. 8 people that I don't control their workshop and subscribing / unsubscribing / updating is their problem. Yes, I do keep track.
