https://www.cnn.com/2018/12/10/politics/trump-impeachment-concern/index.html (CNN) President Donald Trump has expressed concern that he could be impeached when Democrats take over the House, a source close to the President told CNN Monday. The source said Trump sees impeachment as a "real possibility." But Trump isn't certain it will happen, the source added. A separate source close to the White House told CNN that aides inside the West Wing believe "the only issue that may stick" in the impeachment process is the campaign finance violations tied to former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's payouts to Trump's alleged mistresses. Democrats are suggesting Trump committed an impeachable offense and could be sent to prison when his term in the White House is over. The incoming chairman of the House Judiciary Committee, Rep. Jerry Nadler, said Sunday the allegations, if proven, would constitute "impeachable offenses." Democratic Sen. Chris Coons said Monday Trump could be indicted after he leaves office. White House officials, at the moment, still don't believe special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into possible collusion will result in impeachment. Officials are also comforted by their belief that the campaign finance issue is not seen as enough to galvanize bipartisan support for impeachment. Another separate source said Trump remains confident at this point that, while he could be impeached in the House, he doesn't believe he would be convicted in the Senate as the GOP remains in control there. These beliefs about the politics at play in impeachment proceedings are based on what White House officials believe Mueller has on Trump right now. It's still unclear exactly where else the special counsel's probe could go.
What a shame
Poor widdle baby.
rip in piss
WHERE ARE THE SMURFY LAUNCH CODES
'A separate source close to the White House told CNN that aides inside the West Wing believe "the only issue that may stick" in the impeachment process is the campaign finance violations tied to former Trump attorney Michael Cohen's payouts to Trump's alleged mistresses. I see that Trump has, by this juncture, gotten rid of all those WH staffers capable of independent thought, and only those drinking the kool-aid remain. At least they can't deny the fact that he's screwed on that issue, at least.
Im surprised they admitted the legitimacy of that single threat to be honest.
Watch him start playing up the 'coup' narrative now that he knows he's on the ropes.
I just want to see footage of Trump getting arrested while saying "You can't arrest me, I'm the President!"
Good. Be ready.
Yeah, I was about to say if the most delusional, egotistical man in the world can acknowledge his imminent downfall, then it must be pretty fucking serious.
i wonder why
I really reaaaaaallllly want this to be a reality. I hate how this is a CNN article, if other outlets would be reporting on this I would begin to plan out a party, maybe we'll all be given a christmas present this year and see this piece of shit finally get removed from office. It's even more enlightening to see a-lot of his own proud supporters begin to turn their back on him and Republicans on the inside beginning to distance themselves away from him. But we're going to be stuck with the stupid aftermath of all of his dumb bullshit, I've lost hundreds of dollars because of the crash these last couple of days, but so did a bunch of rich scumbags so I guess it's a win-win.
So what happens when Mike Pence steps in? That's what will happen, barring any other special circumstances, correct? Will we have an improvement in stability? There's some speculation going around that a last-ditch effort will be made by Pence to possible Pardon Trump. I've mostly heard he is "just as bad". Most of the news I've read on him (very little) seems to stop short of being truly criminal, and mostly controversial. So my point is, he may remain for the rest of the foreseeable term. In that case, what are the realistic improvements we will see?
Take his money, liquidate his assets, and dump him on the side of the road. Punishment enough.
not until we see any ACTION. we need SHOOTING. we need (presidential) BLOOD... before Nuclear smurfy Mk. II can be launched.

the only reason he'd insinuate he could be impeached is if it's basically in progress and he wants to be able to say "I called it, this is a witch hunt"

Well, I think there is a possibility of a Nixon-esque pardon if Pence steps in, although I wouldn't rule out him feeding Trump to the wolves either. I think as far as him being president goes, well, he seems more traditional establishment than Trump was. He's more likely to be the evil we know.
He was a good man...What a rotten way to die.
As they uses to say back in the day: No dip sherlock.
Trump may be concerned, but Hatch isn't. https://lawandcrime.com/awkward/gop-senator-orrin-hatch-flatly-says-he-doesnt-care-if-trump-was-involved-in-crimes/ Full quote: “The Democrats will do anything to hurt this president,” the long-serving senator said. Democrats have nothing to do with the SDNY’s prosecution of Cohen or what they’ve alleged against Trump during the course of said prosecution. That ongoing investigation is being undertaken by career prosecutors in the Manhattan U.S. Attorneys office–an office currently controlled by a Republican appointee who was installed by President Trump himself. This information was relayed to Hatch. He was still unmoved. “Okay but I don’t care; all I can say is he’s doing a good job as President,” the octogenarian former boxer said. "I don’t think he was involved in crimes but even then, you know, you can make anything a crime under the current laws; if you want to you can blow it way out of proportion–you can do a lot of things." “President Trump before he became president that’s another world,” the one-time chicken coop-dweller said. “Since he’s become president this economy has charged ahead…And I think we ought to judge him on that basis other than trying to drum up things from the past that may or may not be true.” Literally "I don't give a shit. If he's good for the economy he can burn the fucking constitution for all I care."
I’d love to quote this whole speech if (when) the next recession hits.
Oh, but he won't care then either. You see, he doesn't actually care about 'the economy'. He cares about kickbacks. Specifically kick backs for him, his state, and his family. That's it. "I don't care" is about the most honest I've ever seen Hatch be. Things must be getting more difficult up there on the Hill to maintain 'the facade'.
But is Trump really good for the economy? It doesn't seem like it to me, but I do know its too early to say that, since its more long-term stuff. But in the short-term, China stopped buying US soybeans, which was the biggest market. Steel tariffs harmed the auto industry, but also made the US steel industry boom. But also made some computer parts more expensive, which could lead to lower sales, which is not good for the market. Don't get me wrong, this doesn't forgive Trump for any crimes he may have committed. I am just getting tried of hearing he is great for the economy with out any proof, nor results. Also, I will like to state I am no expert in economics, so maybe I'm just an idiot.
He is if they say he is. "What you're hearing and what you're seeing isn't what's happening" and all that bullshit. You are not an idiot. It's just people like Hatch have no intellectual honesty whatsoever. They will tell you to your face that "supply and demand is when people supply things to interested people and therefore create a demand" and when you call them out on it they'll just say that you are either misinformed, don't have a 'deeper appreciation for the topic', or that you're 'blinded by the fake news media'. They keep saying he's great for the economy because that's literally what his base care about -- the money in their wallets. Even as their buying power shrinks, they'll continue to buy into the fairy tale that they will 'make more money' and, even if they don't see that money materialize, they'll just assume 'it's just slow for these policies to get here, as usual, but it's definitely coming'. Some are uninformed. Others are in a cult.
Trump has been a goddamn unmitigated disaster for our economy and it's going to take a long time to recover.
That is what it look like to me, but I barely know shit. Just I know, people spending less money = bad for economy, and people spend less when things cost more and they aren't paid more. That is what I don't get at all. Even I know having more money =/= better economy. If they think that, then let me have them trade in their money for some good ole Zimbabwean dollars. Get a few trillion for just $1 USD.
Yes, and they are doing everything in their power to ensure that that exact messaging is not what those people hear. Get control over Sinclair Broadcasting and I'm not unconvinced that you wouldn't be able to do exactly that.
