here we go again..
God, just a few weeks before Christmas too. That's incredibly fucked up.
Possible victim, NSFW screaming https://twitter.com/NOWNews18/status/1072585826624786433
4 dead now https://twitter.com/NBbreaking/status/1072612076412112897
Remember, with the religion of peace, there will be 'peace', when we're all dead.
Do you maybe want to cool your beans until we know if it actually has anything to do with Islam or not?
yeah i'm sick of white christian radicals too but this isn't the time or place
Do you honestly think a small minority of radicals are representative for 1.8 billion people?
Agent 48 is physically incapable of saying anything other than negative things about Islam, whether or not there's even any proof of a connection.
Is there actually any substantiated claim that Islam is more strict/terrorist-nature on a fundamental level than any other Abraham religion? Could it just be that geopolitical factors in Islam-majority countries make them more likely to be terrorists, and it's just convenient to brush under the rug all the Muslims in places like Canada and the United States who are actually less theocratic monsters than some of the local Christian sects lol.
Remember kids if a terrorist attack is committed by a Muslim then the entire religion must be evil. If its committed by a member of literally any other faith its a tragic lone wolf attack nothing we could have done so sad oh well
Yeah dude I'm sure this terrorist attack by a known radical on a Christmas market is completely unlike that 2016 terrorist attack on a Christmas market by a known (Muslim) radical
I'm not saying it was not an Islamist attack, but jumping to conclusions without evidence is really dumb.
Where did you read this?
https://www.telegraph.co.uk/news/2018/12/11/latest-several-injured-shots-fired-strasbourg-christmas-market/ French authorities are treating the shooting as a terrorist act after identifying the gunman, named Cherif C, a radicalised 29-year old from the city on a “S” security and terror watch list, thanks to CCTV. Anti-terrorist prosecutors have opened an investigation. https://twitter.com/eha_news/status/1072629079961231360 The latest is he managed to evade police after they cornered him, hijacking a taxi.
I agree with your thoughts but nowadays you cant even talk about the facts without being blamed racist. There is a document of people going undercover as muslims in Europe to discover the thoughts of mosque leaders. In the document they discover they are radicalised muslims who promote sharia law and are very medieval in their thinking. I think the documents name was "Undercover Mosque" or something like that. I would say that we need to be able to talk about the problems to make things right. Also im not saying the shooter was radicalised muslim in this case, since i dont know.
I dont think you will be called out (at least here) if you approach the issue intelligently and with self awareness. if you drop a "islam the bad!!!1!!" esque post instead, you shouldn't be surprised when people call you a moron
I think what he said was dumb, but I don't think he should have been banned for it either.
Blatant racism in a shitpost format shouldn't be banned?
Talking shit about Islam =! racism
There was nothing involving racism. At the most it was religious discrimination, are we going to ban everyone who say ignorant things about other people?
Nah, just immediately going, "Haha fucking muslims!" before there was any indication at all who was responsible is. He didn't do it from a point of information, he did it to attack muslims.
I'm not sure what you mean by "nah", he didn't say anything racist. He MIGHT be thinking that but I don't know that, all I can go at with 100% certainty is whats posted. Go after him for what he's actually being a shithead for. For the second part. I'm going to heavy disagree with you, I respect your view and I see why you'd think that. But in my eyes there's no reason to ban someone for saying something you don't like, It's controlling his thoughts and restricting his ability to voice them because they're disagreeable, and I don't condone any sort of censorship of people's thoughts so long as it doesn't call for violence.
His post implies every practicing Muslim wants every non-Muslim to be dead. A 24 hour ban is a slap on the wrist on FP, people have been banned longer for "calm down" and callout bans.
I mean who really wasn't guessing it was a Muslim? Were people honestly thinking "Please don't be Muslim"? Let's not kid ourselves. Islamic terrorism has a history in France, you don't have to be a genius to think there's a decent chance the shooter could be Muslim. Of course there's a right way to word it and a wrong way, and considering Agent 48's post history it's likely his intentions were more spiteful than reasonable. However, I will never understand the pussyfooting around Islam as if it deserves to be protected. It's a terrible religion, as with most of them. Ultimately, there is a difference between thinking Islam is terrible, and thinking Muslims are terrible. One's an idea, and one's a people. If you're content with talking shit about Christianity as I'm certain people (including me) are, you shouldn't hesitate to mock Islam as well.
Pfft, think that shit works with me? Mealy-mouthed weasel words and dogwhistle racism? Gonna take a lot more than that. But that shit wasn't even trying to hide it. It was just outright, blatant racism. And the mods weren't fooled either, so they told him to fuck off with that.
Pretty sure terrorist attacks are called just that when they happen on US soil as well. Or do you have actual examples of France mass shootings being incorrectly labelled as terrorist attacks?
Whilst I'm not upset that he was banned, I am kinda scared by the prospect of 'Islamophobia' being a ban reason now. It's such a broad term and I am concerned any criticism of Islam could be construed as bannable now. I think banning him for shit-posting was okay, but I am talking about the other ban reason.
is that any different in the US? the distinction between 'mass shooting' and 'terrorist attack' is mostly down racial and religious lines, not whether guns are legal lol.
