Now back to the Brexit crisis
F U C K
Reese-Mogg is on the BBC looking like Dennis the Menace just stole his lunch money.
You guys probably dodged a bullet to be honest, you could of ended up with Bojo as your PM.
Well, they've still got a vote that's not going to pass parliament, whenever they decide to put it pack on the table. Labour & Co can still do a no confidence with the government, am I correct?
Yeah, it's just her party that can't challenge her for another 12 months
It's pretty rare for PMs to lose no confidence votes. 117 is VERY bad, but yes, I don't see any worthy successors, so it's probably for the best.
worth thinking about: https://twitter.com/Peston/status/1072960160258277376
Yeah, that's still not a great number. Clear win, but a definite dent in her already diminished authority.
Now I am thinking of a referendum about firing the Halos and one side going about how great the The Great Journey would be.
From Corbyn: "Tonight’s vote makes no difference to the lives of our people. The prime minister has lost her majority in parliament, her government is in chaos and she is unable to deliver a Brexit deal that works for the country and puts jobs and the economy first. That’s why she pulled the vote on her botched Brexit deal this week and is trying to avoid bringing it back to parliament. It’s clear that she has not been able to negotiate the necessary changes in Europe. She must now bring her dismal deal back to the House of Commons next week so parliament can take back control. Labour is ready to govern for the whole country and deliver a deal that protects living standards and workers’ rights."
Thel 'Vadam's deal would only fire 3 of the rings and would require the agreement of both Covenant and Humans to fire the rest after a transition period, that is totally unacceptable not what people voted for at all
117 is fucking nasty. Keep in mind the consequences of Brexit have yet to land, this is the easy part she's on. She's 100% fucked in the long run.
UK politics is so depressing
makes you think how it would've gone if they were all independent, eh
Well, that could had been a lot worse but luckily Boris Johnson isn't getting his grubby mits on the joystick. At least with May you can kinda...? see her trying to land this falling apart plane in the ocean like an emergency landing. Boris would just nose dive the bloody thing into the nearest mountain.
Feeling really sorry for Jacob Rees Moggs servants who will undoubtedly feel his wrath tonight.
So does that mean Labour got fuel to call for vote of no confidence within the House of Commons?
Given the 117 votes against Theresa May from within her own party, and the promises of the SNP and Lib Dems to support Labour in one, I wouldn't be surprised if they felt they could win one.
So, probably the best thing that could've happened. Quantifies Theresa May's weakness in her party, as opposed to making vague comments and speculation, which can be used by Labour etc. in the future, whilst also preventing us from having to tolerate the ball-ache that would be finding a new Tory leader (who would presumably be much worse than May once you look at the main candidates).
She is and always has been the fall guy. When Cameron quit everyone knew whoever was prime minister when brexit came about would have thier political career ruined and their party rendered unelectable. She should have seen the writing on the wall when every other PM candidate pulled out in 2016 so she won by default.
I just want it all to end

A series on Brexit would be the absolute peak of that show, but it kind of requires Brexit to be finished.
Man, if they brought The Thick of It back, I'd make love to anybody I was required to. It's my favourite political satire show.
It wouldn't really be satire anymore though, it'd be more like a documentary at the moment.
The Brexit deal vote will now take place somewhere between 7th and 21st January, by the looks
So that means even less time to negotiate a new deal once this one gets tossed out by parliament?
There wouldn't even be a renegotiation at that point - they'd go through with no deal, no brexit or a second referendum.
