If only they sold cookies like the girl scouts did, they wouldnt be staring down the barrel
The popcorn is pretty lame.
One time some kids came to my door they prob weren't scouts because Canada but they were like "yo wanna order some popcorn its like $20 a fucking bag" and I was like "holy shit thats a lot but okay its for your lil shindigs w/e" and like a year later I got this fucking bag of popcorn in the mail and it was like eating gravel coated with flakes of sawdust designed to choke me out. 2 kids with baseball bats beating me senseless and stealing my wallet would've been better than waiting a year to choke on some rocks for $20
Hopefully they can pull out of bankruptcy and continue along. I know the BSA has alot of problems and not every troop is the best, but damn if it didn't help be who I am today with being level headed and self disciplined. (Being Eagle definitely gives you a leg up with employers)
You think this would have been something they were prepared for...
bring back zing
2 zingers in 1 page im done
It's chapter 11, not chapter 7, guys. And they're doing this to stop the abuse and misconduct lawsuits national is facing. We got an internal email about this and chuckled at how those dumbasses can't do anything right. I doubt the BSA is going anywhere for the time being.
I laughed so hard at this that I had tears in my eyes thank you for that
Scouts are prepared. Management aint.
One time I found some popcorn in the pantry and started eating it only to find out it was that gross ass sweet popcorn from the boyscouts and I contemplated suicide
I got the shit kicked out of me in middle school by an Eagle Scout. He was prepared to kick my ass!

I'm sure they've got the Bankruptcy Badges all prepared and ready to hand out.
Honestly, I wouldn't mind it being replaced with a secular, non gender based community for children and teens that taught them objective morality, wilderness training, and still give out badges. I think my experience with The Boy Scouts was sullied by the fact they (at the time) really didn't allow for gay people in any capacity. Ended up leaving at around age 11 when I realized and just couldn't bare the thought of listening to anti-homosexual lessons (which did happen where I lived). But I wouldn't change my participation if I could. I have fond memories of some of the things we did.
Okay but Christians are going to say "of course it's objective morality that gays are wrong" and Muslims are going to say "of course it's objective morality to <something from Islam>". Point being what the hell is objective morality
It also probably doesn't help that the Girl Scouts of launched at least one lawsuit alleging that the Boy Scouts are somehow infringing on their copyright for going gender neutral earlier this year. The worst part is that the Boy Scouts actually do cool shit, as much as we joke they can't raise money, that's all the Girl Scouts really do. Their trips and etc are like walking down the block to the park compared to the week long hiking ventures that the Boy Scouts fund and celebrate.
I joined 4 troops in my life. The third disbanded because there were literally 4 people in the entire troop and they didn't like that they were letting gays and transgenders into BSA. Then I joined the 4th one and then I got my Eagle. Since then, the Boy scouts wanted to change their name to "Scouts" while letting girls into "The Boy Scouts".
The superiors in my troop thought it would be a good idea to try and sell popcorn at a market located in a rather poor neighborhood. If I had a dollar for every person who showed up looking to buy only to turn it down after seeing the price, I still wouldn’t have enough to buy a box/tin.
Girl Scouts is a child labor ring. Change my mind
That's not what's happening. The Boy Scouts of America organization will keep that name, because it would be a nightmare to rebrand everything. Instead they are changing the Boy Scout adolescent program to become "Scouts BSA", which allows girls to join, starting February next year. Girls can already join Cub Scouts, and BSA has had co-ed programs for many years now, including STEM Scouts, Explorers, Venturers, and Sea Scouts.
TBH Scouts Canada lost me when they re-designed the uniforms and eliminated the sash. Fucking snowflake children today can't handle having to button a shirt, do up epaulettes, or wear a belt and a sash. And don't even get me started on lanyards!
Scouting used to take itself seriously with heavy emphasis on learning life skills and personal empowerment. I was in the scouts for maybe 10 years, was a leader for a bit. Seems they were afraid of being labeled old fashion.
Yeah i'm glad I got to experience the last of "Boy" Boy Scouts because there's nothing better than hanging out with some bros around a campfire in the middle of buttfuck nowhere playing some manhunt in the dark No women, just a boy thing.
