i like this new Punished Cohen
That deer-in-the-headlights look makes me smile every time I see the guy on the news. It is as if he is so deep in shit that he face got stuck.
That deer- Did someone call? Well now that I’m here, it’s pretty interesting seeing this “new”, “reformed” Cohen come out against Trump. I’m still fully convinced he’s still the rat he’s always been, but if him trying to save himself means Trump going down, then it’s fine by me.
Better late than never, but the damage has already been done. Whatever the fallout of this investigation, this is just going to drive a deeper wedge between liberals, ordinary conservatives, single issue voters, and centrists on one side and conservatives of the Trumpian persuasion on the other. But Trump can get as fucked as possible, up to the point of ending up in a military prison.
The message just repeats. Regret, regret, regret.
Call me sensitive, but his beleaguered expression and sincerity in this interview kinda makes me feel sorry for him.
Cohen failed to uphold the basic necessary ethics and decency expected of a lawyer, and he was without any doubt consciously complicit in Trump's molestation of federal law. He knew what he was doing, make no mistake. He's only singing like a bird cause he's aware of what deep shit he's in with Mueller's indictments of justice getting more ballsy by the week. Have no sympathy for those who have been complicit in this subversion of democracy. Every single one of Trump's circle has had a hand in dividing our nation for miniscule payment and reward in return. Fuck em.
Don't get me wrong - I think it's good that he's going to prison for what he did, but compared to many other people who have been sentenced thus far, Cohen seems to be the most apologetic.
Dear humanity; We regret being alien bastards. We regret coming to Washington. And we most definently regret that Mueller's about to blow up our raggedy-ass administration. Hoo-rah
“He’s a very different individual,” Cohen said. “I think the pressure of the job is much more than what he thought it was going to be. It’s not like the Trump organization where he would bark out orders and people would blindly follow what he wanted done. There’s a system here; he doesn’t understand the system and it’s sad because the country has never been more divisive and one of the hopes that I have out of the punishment that I’ve received as well as the cooperation that I have given I will be remembered in history as helping to bring this country back together. “I will not be the villain of his story,” he said. Cohen is stupid if he thinks that's how he'll be remembered. He won't be the villain, but he'll still be a villain. He switched sides to save his skin because he was out of options, that isn't going to earn him magical good guy points.
History looks favourably on traitors when they contribute to the winning side. He's not entirely wrong.
He wants to be remembered like Shadow the Hedgehog. An edgy villain who remembers at the last minute that’s he fucked things up, so he switches sides and dies for no reason. Lady Liberty, this is what you wanted, right? This is my promise I made to you.
Nothing personell, Trump.

Sentenced Cohen: A bottom feeder denied his plea deal.
Is it me or Michael Cohen looks like your 40 year old office colleague who hasn't gotten that promotion in 2 years, works 15 hours a day, and survives on coffee to get past his overtime shift?
Thing about empathy is it doesn't usually respect the justice system. Seeing another human being in pain and sharing that pain applies to more than those without criminal convictions.
Reeeally makes me wonder what he told Mueller and Co to make him this optimistic. Or maybe he’s just an idiot.
I feel bad for the guy. Everything he said in that interview made sense, namely that Trump is a very different person than he was before he was elected. Seems like Cohen got pulled into the partnership early on and shit slowly starting shifting under his feet over the last few years. Slow burn, and good on him for ultimately coming to his senses. The prison time is well deserved, but unlike his client at least he seems to have a sense of morals and higher loyalty.
Over the past few months he's started to look more and more like the Subway Poltergeist from Ghost. https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/110384/421cfe4d-dff6-4d2a-ba50-4033226ca425/image.png
He's just a con man that got caught, so now his only con left is to act contrite and helpful. To assume he's learned anything to just to fall for his grift. Let him do his time, and then let him be forgotten.
