https://thehill.com/homenews/administration/421257-trump-cohen-did-more-public-relations-than-he-did-law President Trump on Thursday asserted that his former attorney Michael Cohen was a "low-level" employee who did limited legal work. Trump sought to distance himself from his longtime associate a day after Cohen was sentenced to three years in prison. "He did very low-level work," Trump said in an interview with Fox News. "He did more public relations than he did law. You would see him on television, and he was OK on television." The comments appeared to undercut Trump's argument made hours earlier on Twitter, and during the same Fox News interview, that Cohen "was a lawyer" and as a result "has great liability" for campaign finance law violations committed on Trump's behalf. "He’s a lawyer," Trump told Harris Faulkner of Fox News. "A lawyer who represents a client is supposed to do t he right thing. That’s why you pay them a lot of money." Asked why he hired Cohen in the first place, Trump pointed to a favor from "years ago" when Cohen was on a condominium committee that oversaw the approval of Trump World Tower in Manhattan. "I thought he was a great guy. I thought he was really a nice guy," Trump said. "He was really supportive, and I liked him, and he was a lawyer, and because of that I did it. And you know what, in retrospect, I made a mistake." On Thursday, Trump said he did not direct Cohen to break the law, and argued that Cohen's misdeeds were "all unrelated" to him other than the campaign finance violations, which the president insisted were not criminal. "They put that on to embarrass me," Trump said of the campaign finance-related charges.
Like clockwork.
Trump: Trump was a low level employee who did more public relations then law.
That's pretty spot on actually.
Ah so paying off porn stars is low level work, what exactly is high level?
Cohen the coffee-boy is besmirching my GREAT name in the courts with his lies! something crooked killary kkklinton! SAD!
but wait I thought crime was classified under law
If it's to be believed, drinking diet Coke and watching TV for 10 hours a day with occasional big Mac breaks. Aka supar important presidential big boy stuff.
1)"everybody below me was a low level employee who did not do anything" 2) "I hire only the best people!" 3) ???
Trump: Don Jr. was a low-level son. "You would see him on television, and he was OK on television."
Ahh, the coffee-boy excuse, how totally expected.
ffs its like comedic of how predictable his behavior of shoving people under the bus is.
Media orgs really shouldn't be putting this in headlines without the phrase 'falsely claims'. The guy was Vice President of the Trump Organization and personal lawyer to Donald Trump, you don't need a team of fact checkers for this one
Cohen? Don't even know him, never heard the name. But I can tell you one thing, believe me, he's a complete loser. A nobody.
News can't show "bias" like that without incurring the right-wing wrath and loss of viewership
i’m screaming omg he actually said it
If assisting in tax evasion is "low level PR" then what is a high level employee to him
anyone willing to urinate while he watches
Someone who would take a bullet for him Oh wait…
No wonder Trump's so "high energy", what with all the coffee boys working for him.
Ditching bodies in the Hudson.
Trump
