FCPN.CH Community hub for community projects - General

fcpn.ch/ Hub Community hub for community projects (also event tracking) What is this? Fcpn.ch is proposed project from back before the forum move, initially pitched by Vagax (the fuck is your name on here now?) for the community fund as a place to consolidate all of the little community projects and events into a single, easily accessible and clear to read site. Why is this needed? Short answer, it isn't. But as the original proposer did nothing with the webspace that was provided for it. @Hezzy ended up just wasting money on a domain for no purpose out of the funds and I wasted time setting this all up for them to build it. I didn't like that, so I took control and made it a thing after passing it by the big man. So what's on it? Currently at the time of posting, the hub has a collection of resources that all relate to the FP forums in one way or form (its also got a URL shorter which was like, the original point for the tiny domain ). Be this from handy sites related to customisation, to the broken wiki (fix it already @smurfy ) and game servers that are currently running. Wait is that an event tracker? Yep, that was one of the originally proposed purposes of the site, to have one single place where you can find all the events that people are hosting from/for FP, the plan is to let people submit their events to a publicly viewable calendar (this was suggested by @Hezzy ) so you can subscribe to it and get notifications of when events are coming up. We're still not 100% on how to go about submitting events so they can get added as this is super early days, but the plan is to have a few people who have direct access to the calendar who can approve suggested event proposals and add them on, currently it is just me but I'd really like to have more people otherwise it'll be like walking up to my desk and dumping all your paperwork on it, I don't want that thx. I made a thing for FP, how do I get it on here? You post it silly, or poke me on Discord (Reagy#1001) or something, if its seen as useful it'll get added. So what's planned? Revival of the FP Map, not using some sketchy 3rd party that floods your email with spam. Revival of FP Radio or some sort of podcast, if anyone is interested in this please mention it in here, @smurfy showed some interest and he did the original FP Radio a good few years back. Feedback hub for listed events, gonna figure out something so people can leave feedback for events that get listed via the site Anything else people can think of, this is for your use, if you think something is a good idea and should be made/done, suggest it! WHY IS IT WHITE Because I went with that 【ａｅｓｔｈｅｔｉｃ】minimal look and I like to see you suffer. Dark theme coming soon in valve time. So what do you want us to do? Use the site, you might find things you never knew the community made or are providing. Maybe think of some events to suggest like a group sync'd movie night or something along the lines of that. The entire point is to be a platform to share neat stuff made by the community and act as a hub for stuff that people want to do together. FP has never really had something like this while other communities do and we're large enough to at least organise something together. So lets share and do stuff together eh? Feel free to discuss anything about the site its self here but if you want to plan out events, I recommend using the Facepunch Community Event Hub thread for that, if something gains enough interest I might see it or alternatively throw it my way and I'll tack it onto the calendar for everyone to see.

Excuse the bump but I'm still looking for people to help out with organizing events and scheduling them on the planner. Also if anyone is interested in the whole podcast idea please give a mention, might be able to get something going after new year. As for the map, I'll likely have something working once I get back in the UK.

While i havent really used google calendar to organise events before,i do want to help with organising events on ttt and tf2 as i think this would help populate servers faster and overal be useful for events.

I'd be pretty happy to contribute to podcast and radio stuff, even if it's just on the production side. Might be worth gauging interest as to whether people will listen to it first however!
