i really wish the glitchy visuals were a little subtler, visually this game is basically Only God Forgives except three years ahead of when that actually came out. like these colors and textures are the most Nicholas Winding-Refn shit ever.
This game is such a guilty pleasure of mine. I love the gritty blown-out $5 camcorder aesthetic and Fragile Alliance is great with a big group of friends, it was better than people give it credit for and I'll die on that hill.
I actually quite enjoyed this game. Got it, and the first game during the fall sale for a couple dollars. I'm also currently replaying through it on the hardest difficulty. Like @Jojje I love the aesthetic. It's unique and hasn't really been replicated by any other game. Shame we may never see a continuation since IO lost the rights to it after after their ties were severed with Square Enix.
The aesthetic actually made the game somewhat age well better visually too. I loved it on release as well, but I remember people were complaining about it. But it's pretty pleasant to hear most people looking back at it are giving it merit for its unique look. I also love the censored mosaic on headshots, it leaves to the imagination how brutal a kill is. I remember there was a weekend playgroup for K&L2 here on FP as well during its release, I'd love to be able to gather up and play with people again too for the multiplayer.
I absolutely hate the style of this game. Though what I hate the most is the fact that cover doesn't prevent you from taking damage and aiming is more of a suggestion. Also, in regards to the betrayal system the way to use it is to kill your team mates while you're waiting for the escape van to arrive, that way you have enough time to grab their cash and escape before they respawn as cops and get you.
And you also don't share the money you escape with if you become a traitor. Normally all the money is added up and distributed evenly.
Remember when there was a Kane & Lynch movie in the works? With Bruce Willis as Kane and Jamie Foxx as Lynch? Not surprised that never surfaced.
What’s fucking with me most about that is I could have sworn they released a still from the film’s production not too long after the casting was announced, but I can’t find it. Granted, I haven’t looked that hard, but I can see it so clearly in my head (basically it was Kane and Lynch sitting in the back of some nasty looking prison van in orange jumpsuits, and Fox’s had an awful haircut). if I imagined it, it’s pretty vivid
