Apparently the ending is a download and not on the disk. But then the word patch would not 100% apply to this case as it isn't fixing anything, just adding content. So: free, required DLC that would download at some point to allow you to access the ending?
Yep, that should be the case if Nomura is telling the truth. It's probably (or, at least, I hope it is) disguised as a Day 1 patch.

Rumor is that it was going to come out in Nov/Dec, but they pushed back the release so it wouldn't conflict with Red Dead or Smash
I'm trying to catch up for KH3 and... fuck me DDD is rough. I have no idea why they made the environments so big if the system was fucking incapable of filling it with stuff. The story is also nonsense even in relation to other KH games.
Also the HD version arbitrarily has different controls for no reason, different from every other game in the entire series in terms of targeting.
All the side games in my opinion are pure garbage. The main games are the only ones worth playing and feels like all the side games have done is making the story even more confusing.
Anyone who says the story isn't confusing hasn't played Birth By Sleep, which actively retcons everything you learn lore-wise about where keyblades come from, how world traversal works, as well as the fact that less than 10 years before the first game, people were coming and going with keyblades to different worlds.
Even though the first game establishes you're just... not supposed to interact with other worlds. At all. To the point where most people don't even know that there are other worlds.
My bf has been panicking since the leaks, which is completely understandable. Imagine if HL3 was a month from release and someone spoiled the entire game after waiting years for it to come out.
