President Trump is "absolutely" willing to shut down the government if Congress doesn't authorize funding for a border wall and will do "whatever is necessary" to get the wall built,
according to Stephen Miller, a White House senior adviser.
"If it comes to it, absolutely. This is a very fundamental issue," Miller said Sunday on "Face the Nation" when asked whether Mr. Trump is willing to allow a shutdown. Miller said
Democrats, who oppose the president's requested $5 billion for wall funding, must decide "whether they want to fight for America's working class, or promote illegal immigration."
"At stake is the question of whether or not the United States remains a sovereign country," he said.
The federal government will partially shut down after Dec. 21, days before Christmas, if the House and Senate fail to approve new spending bills or if Mr. Trump refuses to sign them
into law. The president said last week he would be "proud" to shut down the government over border security and declared he would take full responsibility for any shutdown.
On "Face the Nation," Miller also said the death last week of 7-year-old Jackeline Caal, who died two days after she and her father were taken into custody along the U.S. border, was
"a painful reminder of the ongoing humanitarian tragedy that is illegal immigration and the misery that it spreads."
He declined to answer who bears responsibility for the girl's death, saying both political parties need to take action to improve the system. On Friday, U.S. immigration officials
defended their actions in the detention of the Guatemalan girl, who had gone days without food and water, a Department of Homeland Security statement said.
Raised in a post-war world with a skewed perception of manhood, plenty of abuse involving women, hotel-room affairs and destruction, fascistic rise to power, lots and lots of talk about walls, ending in a grand court case-... When you lay it out and ignore the nuances, the similarities are striking.
I fucking hate Stephen Miller.
The words "border wall" and "necessary" don't even belong in the same paragraph, let alone the same sentence.
they say life imitates art sometimes, lets hope for the trial.
I kind of hope Trump does it. It would hurt every family with employment in any arm of the fed right at Christmas and that would be very unfortunate, and I'm not at all welcoming that, but if it has to happen, the backlash it will generate from everyone except Trump cultists who aren't affected will be a wave of anger against Trump. Anger that will not have completely subsided by the time Democrats take the House and can begin launching investigations, anger that will generate greater support and enthusiasm for these investigations. The more insulting moves Trump pulls now, the deeper he digs his own and Republicans' trenches going into January.

Reminder that the girl's family are disputing the official account and saying she had food and water before she was taken into custody. Miller's a cobra wearing a white-supremacist man suit, and he has the deaths of I don't know how many Central and South Americans on his hands, including children, already and the body count's going to continue to rise until he's removed from any position of influence on any level of US government policy.
Fuck off.
Do it pussy
Unless everyone south of the border turned into zombies, we don't need a fucking wall, jesus fuck.

Hey fucktard, you ever stop to think about what actually drives illegal immigration? That's right...because they can't do so legally! Try the other direction instead, we're a nation of immigrants built upon immigration and, frankly, if they want to come here and be honest, hardworking citizens I welcome them with open arms.
You, however, can fuck right off to another planet, ya worthless sack of shit. And take everyone else in the Trump admin with you.
Man. This administration is truly truly awful but I think Stephen Miller might be the worst one of them all. That counts Trump himself.
That's how they see everyone south of the border.
I think the worst part is as an advisor he hasn't had to undergo scrutiny for his rediculously extremist views in the public space like someone who's appointed by the senate or works for any of the agencies would have to. He's able to act like a xenophobic white nationalist every day because he doesn't have to answer to anybody about it.
Zombies? oh the truth is far worse my friend.... non whites
But if we just welcome them into the country how are the GOP's business interest supposed to exploit immigrant labor? Do you have any idea what it would do to the profit margins if they had to start treating them a citizens with rights and benefits?
I think you're being very heartless right now! These businesses can't afford to just start paying their workers a fair wage! What would the shareholders think?
Kinda offtopic but your post reminds me of a comic I've read recently that has a very similar setting.
The US gets fully decimated by a zombie outbreak, but the zombies cannot move to Mexico because it all takes place in a future where Trump sucessfully built his wall.
This results in Mexico waiting for all the zombies to die out, then they take over the US.
Trump's worst nightmare, really.
I hereby volunteer Stephen Miller and friends to be the first brave souls to colonize the surface of Sol.
Stephen Miller is like the Rasputin foe Trump.
Except extremely racist.
We'll be generous and pack them an extra set of bootstraps just to make sure they can build some EVA suits once they've landed. Can't say we didn't give 'em a headstart...
Nah, give them at least the semblance of a chance. Send them to Mars. Tell them their resupply of food, water, and oxygen is in orbit and they can have it land when they've used their racial purity to pull themselves up by their bootstraps into converting their lander into a 100m^2 martian base. And they can start by disconnecting and scrapping the engines and using the fuel and engine parts as a heat source on those cold Martian nights because they won't need them for coming home, live or die.
If they truly are the superior race, they'll survive and flourish.
He's neither joking nor smoking when he says this.
Personally I feel we shouldn't dump toxic waste in either place. Just shoot it off into the nearest black hole instead.
To be fair, he's right for the first and only time in his life. The US will not be a sovereign country again until we get these KGB agents out of the white house.
Honestly I'm surprised he was even able to say it was a tragedy, Miller's the one who enjoys looking at pictures of children in cages, and probably has a couple semi live ones in his house.
I wonder if this is actually a viable solution for nuclear waste.
It would take millions of years to send our fastest ships to the nearest black hole.
Do you want CoD: Infinite Warfare? Because space Nazis on Mars is how you get Infinite Warfare.
I hear the sun is a great holiday destination this time of year however. We could probably organise an all expenses paid trip if we all chip in together!
Trump Vs Bollocks-faced Arse-judge when?
