Don't punish the child for his fathers political affiliations, seriously. However, he stressed that the school had 140 applications for just 30 spots and the school was obliged to reject most of them. Oh okay, still wouldn't have meant that he would have gotten the place in the first place.
Watch as most posters do not read article and angrily rant despite the fact that the school rejected a buncha applications not just his specifically
The parents were reportedly quizzed about their political views. Just stop Germany, please.
They had 140 applications for 30 spots, they had to deny over 3:4 applications. While I don't agree parents being quizzed on their political agenda, unless their children start to yap shit to their classmates, if you had to pick one out of 4 kids for a school that puts an emphasis on parental contribution, would you rather keep the kid with parents who get along well with others or the kid with parents who run a political platform around intolerance of non-ethnic Germans and foreigners? Sorry for not running quotas for alt-righters, I guess.
Since some people seem to not read that part, it's a "Waldorf"-school, a privately owned school where the children learn exciting things such as "dancing their own name" or "hugging trees", so don't get your Jimmys rustled. Again, since they are privately owned they can pretty much tell everyone they don't like to fuck off, which in one case out of 110 rejected children happens to be the child of a far-right politician.
Ffs Boilrig, this isn't widespread, by law questions about political leanings (among other things that are illegal to discriminate by) are considered out of the norm and you can't be held accountable for them if you would lie about them in any sort of interview. Seeing as his father was a politician though, a simple google search would have blown any kind of excuse.
Most likely, they got cut in the selection process that had to cut 75% of applicants away. Less likely, they decided that someone with the political views of the parents would probably be incompatible with the pedagogy of the school which relies heavily on inclusivity and direct input from parents, so the parents' views and values does matter a lot. Gotta remember, this isn't just some upper-class private academy bullshit where you pay to have your kids in classes with no poor kids so they can socialize with people of their own standards, it's a Waldorf-school. This is advanced weird hippie bullshit. Least likely, they said "We don't want your kind around here!"
Big whoop, I attended a private school as a kid and people were rejected left and right. I initially was rejected too, but only got accepted because my sister was accepted. The school is pretty traditional, so they valued family and shit like that. Point is, this is only an issue because snowflake righties.
All the criticism of the political side aside, I think people ignore/did not read these parts: A Waldorf school, also known as a Steiner school, reportedly held lengthy meetings with the AfD politician and his wife as well as about 20 teachers and decided against accepting their child despite the fact he was already attending its kindergarten. "We liked this school very much. How can we now explain to our child that his friends may join the Waldorf school next year but that we are not welcome there?"
Maybe it was because of who he was or not. Either way we don't know, it's just like ethnic minorities crying when they don't get a particular job/university/etc and saying its because of racism.
Have you ever read an article from start, to finish? Ever?
It is the fact those questions are even asked, is disappointing.
"Wait... aren't you the guy that's basically a Nazi?" "Yeah, lol" "Huh... alright, well we have a bunch of other candidates we'd rather let in already, and we don't really wanna support that shit." "I KNEW IT, THE LEFT ARE THE REAL FASCISTS!!!!"
In normal circumstances at least over here, you can't ask about political views in these sorts of situations.
I thought you said it was enough that the questions were asked? The questions here didn't play a role, as can be seen from hundreds of other applicants also being denied
Mathschool rejects child of parents who think math is shit and stupid.
The questions would not need to be asked if they didn't play a role in selection.
so is every question asked then playing a role in selections? I'm sure we could find a few outliers to this that would bring your whole assumption into question?
The state education minister has summoned the school administration to investigate. Private schools are governed by the same regulations as state schools, but they also have the right to select pupils as long as they don't violate anti-discrimination legislation. By asking the political questions to the parents, the process itself can be viewed as prejudice or flawed.
Except in the official statement from the teacher-parent council the statement says that they see too much potential for conflict between parents and teachers. And given the current track record of abysmally stupid actual work that the AfD has tried and used for nothing but provocation and waste of time and money, I won't blame them.
and I'm guessing the AfD are challenging that statement, or else the state education minister wouldn't of been called.
How? Isn't it nice how YOU YOURSELF are equaling "AfD parents" with the party itself.
You simply you can't verify that your kid was not chosen due to political motivations, which I don't know about you but that sounds like discrimination.
Storm in a fucking tea cup this, literally nothing to suggest that he simply wasn't rejected because the other prospective students were seen as better candidates. Just alt-right snowflakes wanting to play the victim card.
Germany, france and sweden, 3 dying nations. From the ashes will rise a crescent moon.
I can understand the concern, though. Children tend to adopt their parents political views, simply since they were exposed to those views from an early age. A child of the Alt-Right may inadvertently act as an apostle for the movement within the school.
Shit like this makes me wish europe was being taken over by sharia law. Also boilrig, if you still want to at least kind of look like you're remaining impartial, try not to rate unhinged shit like this positively.

Is anyone surprised that Boilrig believes in the 'great replacement' meme? Honestly?
