The top 5 games from the listing. Should note there doesn't seem to be much in terms of personal data- names, addresses etc., so it's not a huge data breach.

Oh, so it's just players who even touched the game. Kinda lame.
fifa 16, 17 and 18, never would have guessed that.
Makes you realise how much money EA must've made from them, especially considering they're all riddled with DLC.
Sports games are what most of the "casual" audience plays, and so they're bound to be one of the largest groups of games played out there. Almost every guy I know who isn't heavily into gaming has played or has a sports game.

Fifa is huge in Europe and CA/SA. Its the major reason why EA is trying their damndest to go against lootbox laws, its their bread and butter franchise.
Its kinda sad to see that each year sports games seem to be able to beat their last years version, even tho they just grow in micro transactions with little to none extra game content.
FIFA is huge wherever there are soccer fans. Fantasy matchups and teams? Yep, gonna buy an Xbox just for that and have fun with my bros on weekends.
FIFA makes more than all their other titles combined, so yes, it's a lot of money.
Even worse, it's filled with MTX, not DLC. It doesn't have DLC at the moment.
so this could include things like free trials, or EA's game service for FIFA. Not necessarily everyone who bought the game.
It's also hands down the most boring game you can ever play
newer fifa games are like a worse version of football simulator
22.6M for Rocket League... noiiiice!
Wonder how many are the same suckers who bought each game.
even people i know who are both avid gamers and soccer fans hate it. it's very obviously set up to be very easy to the casual player. there really isn't much of a skill ceiling other than the newer games where it's unbox the most expensive players
The wallets of dudebros are easy to empty
It's sad because the industry is leaning heavily into the same mtx practices that infest FIFA because it's 'successful' but it's only successful because they're targeting the least-gamer bottom of the barrel consumer. Then the suits just turn around and say "yeah but it's what gamer want right? If they didn't want this stuff then why is it so profitable?!"
Like, I feel bad for even thinking this way and it only makes me feel 'old' but I kinda wish gaming never really went mainstream. It makes my stomach churn a little bit just thinking about what the state of the industry is going to be like 20 more years from now...
It makes little sense to me that these sort of statistics arent always available. Games and game networks track an enormous amount of game data.
I suppose that disclosing them are.. neither a necessity nor beneficial on their part?
These stats should be available for everyone without having to leak it. Same thing with "amount of people playing right now" stats if Sony tracks them. It's a good way to see if a multiplayer game has an active playerbase.
