when i was in seattle public smoking was definitely not allowed but it didn't stop me walking past many people and thinking "okay that is not a cigarette..."

I don't think it's common, but some people can react badly to weed (just like any other drug) and second hand smoke can affect them in a negative way.

I have a friend who's fiance smokes in the basement because it makes his allergies act up. He said that even sometimes it comes through the vents and makes him choke up.
Yeah that too. Honestly smoking weed is fine, but people need to have common decency and not do it in public.
Drinking in public is illegal, should be the same for any other drug.
you have to be in an enclosed room with weed smoke and a LOT of it to get an effect.
I'm not talking about the average person. It's like anesthetic, some people react badly. But yeah, tobacco smoking laws and weed smoking laws should be interwined
