I recently tried to log back in to my old FP account to access some posts I had contributed to years ago. I wanted to look at some screenshots from an old map I help collaborate on for Garry's Mod. It seems like I don't have permission to view anything on the forums except current posts, but FP claims they still exist. What the hell happened to this forum?
Is there any way to still access these old posts or am I screwed?
It's because the Videos section, among others, are deleted/hidden. You can still find old as fuck posts but not from any sections outside the currently existing ones.
Man that's really depressing... I guess it's my fault for not backing up all my old Source Engine screenshots, but still. I've been inactive on FP for about 2 years and I'm sure there was probably some
warning explaining the changes. That's what I get for being a lurker I guess.

You can still access those posts if you manage to find them through google search.
They didn't disappear, its just the forum search engine tries to find them at places where they are not anymore.
Of course all this could be possibly fixed probably by a simple maintenance task but...
also several users have deleted their accounts, which accounts, no pun intended, for some, if not a majority, of missing posts.
Two major things have happened:
Multiple forums were deleted. In some cases, like the videos subforum, all of the "lost" threads were mass-moved into General and exist there now. However, the search function does not know about this and still has those threads as existing in now deleted/hidden subforums. The internal forum search can't find them, but the threads still exist. Google Search will find them easily.
Many users have been deleting their accounts. Any threads they personally created do not exist anymore, taking with them all the posts in the thread. Unlike the above option, those posts/threads are gone.
And it fucking blows because I had a ton of FP threads book marked that had useful libraries and code snipets for gmod that are now just gone.
I miss those threads that were literally spammed in the drop dead threads from when I first registered.
The" I am a dumb n word" ones...
