you really need to fight this shit as hard as you can.
bun right off
For example, by constantly shaking your head so the cameras can't detect you.
We china now.
BBW says it used the U.K.'s Freedom of Information laws to obtain police figures which showed 100 percent of matches made by the scanners since May have been inaccurate. The linked report shows that this is based on a trial in Westfield shopping centre for a day (I couldn't see how long for) looking for 489 individuals. It generated 5 false positives and no true positives, with 1 individual being stopped. Obviously one trial isn't definitive, but it doesn't seem like it's even effective.
No, no, no, no. Thank god I don't live in London, always seems like a police state any time I go there.
That's not really the point though. It'll become 99% effective eventually. Probably pretty soon.
Tyrants do think alike.
>Australian airline Qantas announced in July that it would use the technology for passenger identification. Sydney Airport's CEO said at the time that in the future "your face will be your passport." Last week, car rental company Hertz unveiled its first biometric lane at Atlanta International Airport. The lanes allow customers to use facial scanners instead of showing a physical form of identification, which Hertz said makes renting a car up to 75 percent faster. Sounds all very convenient doesn't it.
Facial recognition technology used for public surveillance should be considered a human rights violation.
We can fight all we want but this is 'progress'.

Here we fucking go.
Of all tyrannies, a tyranny sincerely exercised for the good of its victims may be the most oppressive. It would be better to live under robber barons than under omnipotent moral busybodies. The robber baron's cruelty may sometimes sleep, his cupidity may at some point be satiated; but those who torment us for our own good will torment us without end for they do so with the approval of their own conscience. C.S. Lewis on point.

I can easily see this becoming socially acceptable with how widespread "nothing to hide, nothing to fear" already is. As loud as people could be against this, it really feels like something that we'll just end up with through sheer apathy.
I have a general feeling this is a bad thing, but I cant think of a specific reason why How can the government use your location via facial recognition against people who aren't committing a crime?
