If he had the option he should pack up everything he owns and flee the country.
drug stigma ruining lives? say it ain't so
drug criminality is so fucking stupid
who cares if someone has fucking drugs, if the drugs are so bad let them 'ruin' their own lives with it rather than fucking killing them just for possessing it.
As much as I disagree with the country's stance on drugs, as well as my own, you gotta be daft to assume such substances would be seen lightly. Hell, the past headlines and pretty much every tourists know that SEA is serious about drugs, even though its corrupted as fuck and drugs are pretty easy to find.
Hell our landing cards have words in big prints that trafficking will get you the death penalty.
Its like traveling to a muslim country, and it has a pretty obvious law that blasphemy will get you the death penalty, but you disregard the law, as stupid as it may be.
Its simple, if you go to a place you know with very tough laws on certain issues you find backwards, either don't go there, or don't do whatever it is. Or you can always take the risk, but I told you so.
Yeah.
Both the law and the tourist are incredibly stupid. I wish him the best though.
Complete and utter idiot. Unless your medically sick, don't do drugs, especially don't take them to a country that highly penalises the drug you intend to use.
No one deserves to die for being stupid, though.
Also sounds like victim blaming but ok.
There's an absolutely massive backpacking community in Bali and drugs are fucking everywhere. You're hard pressed to go to a hostel and not find someone smoking a joint.
This is just needless heavy action from the courts and police. I hope the UK rescues him, we have good ties with India so hopefully it will work out and we can get him home.

> serious about drugs
> alcohol and tobacco which are much more harmful, addicting and little to no medical potential legal
Did you read the article? It says he uses them for arthritis.
I read 31grams and 3grams..which is it because thats a huge difference but regardless he should have respected the countries policies...or at least been sneakier and not mail ordered hash oil
This is the case with literally every nation on earth, and it all started because of some weirdos lobbying to ban hemp in the 30s because it was competing with the paper industry
"Unless you're medically sick, don't do drugs"
Who died and made you the authority on what people do with their own bodies?
Bali is veeeery Muslim last time I was there, I still remember a police man talking to us about the drug problem on the Gilli t island. Loads of hippies/tourists flock to the islands for that kind of stuff and then get caught and play the victim
You travel to another country, respect their laws and customs imo
i remember being 13 and "high on life" too.
While I personally wouldn't want to live in a society where drugs are entirely criminalized and drug users persecuted, I can't still say that such a society is somehow objectively worse or better than a society where all drugs are legalized. It's just a different way of life and society.
I'd say a society that puts people to death over drug use is objectively worse than one that decriminalizes it.
There's no benefit to a society where drugs are heavily criminalized and users persecuted.
It's a cost negative for the society, and leads to a lot of issues as the US can attest to.
Just pragmatically, it's not a good way to go about things.
@FlakTheMighty Sorry for derailing, but I just checked the sticky and there isn't anything there about image macros?
Because death penalty for CBD oil is a just and fair punishment.
usually these countries prevent people from leaving the country.
Posts need to have effort put into them.
I'd argue all of Agent48's posts violate this rule but then I realize it must take some kind of effort to be this consistently dumb.
Its not like we can do much here when majority of the population are conservative af. The only way the stance in SEA change is if more countries overseas starts decriminalizing it, then we have a chance of actually doing the same.
That or hope the old farts die off so the younger people can take over.
Hell, If I were to smoke weed in Amsterdam, and I get tested when I land, I WILL BE SENT TO REHAB (WHICH IS MORE LIKE PRISON TBH) EVEN THOUGH I DID IT IN A FOREIGN COUNTRY.
Yea, no, they shouldn't have any right to criminalize him and give him the death penalty of a country he isn't even a citizen of...
Yeah no at that point I'd be 'Kill him and the city he was in stops existing.'
Thus why I do not run a country because the world would probably end.
Honestly, this is no different than terrorists capturing a tourist for being an 'infidel', except the terrorists are an oppressive government.
How though? I'm kind of legitimately curious, as I don't have an answer how society should be, or how drug laws should be.
I only have my personal views, as do you, but objectively speaking? How and according to who? Or are these stupid questions?
