President Trump has agreed to shut down his embattled personal charity amid allegations that he used it for his personal and political benefit and to give away its remaining money,
New York Attorney General Barbara Underwood announced Tuesday.
Underwood said that the Donald J. Trump Foundation is dissolving as her office pursues its lawsuit against the charity, Trump and his three eldest children.
The suit, filed in June, alleged “persistently illegal conduct” at the foundation and sought to have it shut down. Trump denied that the organization had done anything wrong. In late
2016, he said he wanted to close the foundation, but the New York attorney general blocked that move while it investigated.
In a court filing in New York, Underwood said that the foundation’s remaining $1.75 million would be distributed to other charities approved by her office and a state judge.
The attorney general’s probe turned up evidence that Donald Trump Jr., Eric Trump and Ivanka Trump — all listed as officers of the charity — had never actually held a board meeting.
The board hadn’t met since 1999.
The charity’s official treasurer, Trump Organization executive Allen Weisselberg, told investigators that he wasn’t aware he was on the board at all. State investigators asked
Weisselberg what the foundation’s policies were to determine whether its payments were proper. “There’s no policy, just so you understand,” Weisselberg said.
The demise of the Trump Foundation still leaves one mystery regarding a large portrait of Trump that the future president bought for $20,000 in 2007, using money from the charity.
What became of it after that is unknown.
No.
There need to be actual consequences. He shouldn't get to just fucking go "haha oops I won't do this shit any MORE!"

The legal system doesn't allow that, he would have gotten off Scott Free if he lost the election, the only way he'll ever face prison as as the former President of the United States.
The legal system doesn't allow for consequences for the actions of individuals?
It doesn't if you have enough money, or information to give them to help get someone else. The only way rich people get jailed is if they're ridiculously stupid, blatant, or their operation is large enough like Bernie
Madoff.
the only time corporate crime get prosecuted is if it hurts enough rich people. We have decided banks and bankers and corporations are too valuable to hold accountable.
I mean for what it's worth, Trump is probably going to end up getting nailed to the wall as a sacrificial lamb since I don't think any actually rich people respected his tackiness anyway
So I'm guessing this proves he was using the charity as a personal piggy bank.
