https://www.eventhubs.com/news/2018/dec/21/only-950-fight-money-available-street-fighter-5-weekly-missions-extra-battle-opportunities-reduced-three-one/ When missions first kicked off a few years ago players could earn somewhere in the ballpark of 6,500 FM each week for hitting goals like performing 10 combos, entering Training Mode and things of the like. The weekly missions add up to a total of 950 FM, meaning you'll only be able to acquire 2,950 FM for doing everything this time around. Capcom did recently implement another way to earn FM thanks to in-game advertising, but this offers a mere eight additional FM per online bout. Might as well make the game f2p at this point.
Are fight bucks purchasable with real money yet? This reeks of either an incredibly poor plan to artificially extend play time or is preparation for a real money store. And no, I have no been following this or I wouldn't have asked.
Fight Money is the currency you get for just playing the game. SF5 has had a cash shop since Day 1 (costumes, stages, characters) and (last I remember) doesn't use premium currency and just lists the prices upright ($4.99, $5,99, etcetc) instead.
Seriously what’s wrong with Capcoms fighting game developers? How does every other team knock it out of the park, yet the team behind SFV and Infinite outsources content like crazy (and it’s so obvious when they do ) and still ends up less developed and put together compared to literally every other game? Tekken 7, Soul Caliber, DBZ all make SFV look pathetic, both in terms of content and presentation
The last non-travesty fighting game they have come out with was Street Fighter 4, in 2009. Coming up on nearly an entire decade of outright poisoning the genre with SFxT, MvC:I, and this. And a good chunk of SF4's groundswell was the hope that Capcom could put out fighting games again after the last time the genre died with them at the wheel. The worst part is that, mechanically? SF5 is fairly nice, and while I ain't ever touching Infinite I've heard the same about that. It's just that people shouldn't be willing to sell their soul to the goddamn devil to have "Nice".
Great. Now where am I going to get the fight money to buy two of every animal on earth?
Why the fuck did I buy this game on release
They're also now potentially dropping the concept of having a Season Pass all together. While that's a good thing by most accounts, I feel they're also making this move to play on the buying culture of downloadable content. They know most people see things like season passes and don't like it or don't even bother, so removing them gives more incentive to those to actually buy more content. Basically, it's no secret that SFV didn't do nearly as well as Capcom hoped it would, so they're really going to lengths to try to make back as much money on it as they possibly can. They couldn't do it with MvC:I because the damage was already more than done with that game to the point where Disney would probably destroy Capcom's ass if they tried the same stuff with that game, so they're putting it all into SFV instead.
i wish i could just refund the game at this point
