It's a feature!
Oh sick, the new Jpad is out
nah it's just their take on the recent curved display craze
A brave design move
These are ultra fucking flimsy, it puts the iPhone 8+ to shame. I don't understand Apple's reluctance to use stronger materials. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hUBsxCcJeUc
I love how Apple fans were jumping on this one guy who made the iPad Pro bend test and said how weak it is. Granted the video was a bit extreme and fully destroying the iPad Pro but he still had a point. Its also bending exactly where the guy said it would, since it has no internal support structure really. https://i.imgur.com/LesHqSk.jpg https://i.imgur.com/6PAdzA7.jpg At the points on the long side where the structure is weakened by holes or the pen holder. Then again, on places like the apple subreddit you already got people trying to defend/deflect it. https://i.imgur.com/seWix12.png Although there are plenty sane people on there as well.
Imagine being a literal trillion dollar company and hiring engineers that can design anything you want except structural integrity. And then, telling customers "lol it's supposed to be like that deal w/ it scrub," to get out of warranty claims because you care about nothing but profit.
Because their core consumer base will believe it or not care either way
They want you to buy more from them, having their products breaking easily while also making them hard/impossible to fix is one way to do it. (logic would tell you that's a terrible plan, but the crazed apple fanatics defy all expectations)
Don't blame the engineers, they don't get a say in half the shit they spew out, I'd say it's due to cost and time constraints as usual, WE WANT IT THINNER!
The engineers actually have a very important job in all this, they have to make it as thin and light as possible with the cheapest and least amount of materials, while also having it be sturdy enough that warranty replacements don't eat into profits. I'm sure they'd like it to be sturdier, but that's not their job at Apple.
Imagine buying Apple products. Lol.
seems like they should have put some ribbing into the piece that was meant to structurally support the entire device
Strong materials and better construction cut into the bottom dollar, and it also means there would be less likelihood of someone breaking their device and getting screwed over into buying a replacement if they don't have a warranty or so forth. It's Apple, this is nothing new.
for artists who need a portable solution the ipad pro aint half bad, i'd never buy one myself but i know a ton of professionals who swear by it. tho i'm just here laughing with my surface pro that's had the same features as the new ipad pro for 2 years now
in their defense, they do have a very premium feel for the first week after buying it
Where is the zing rating when you need one.
Despite the cool-looking design, the Surface Pro has issues too. Bad thermals, bad screens that start to jitter permanently, support that denied these issues for the good chunk of two years until finally giving in. Granted, at least they don't bend.
I played around with a friends ipad pro today. They're pretty slick I liked them. Shame it's got this issue tho

Because they are more about being able to say how light it is. And enough of their fans are okay with that. How many iPhones ago was this an issue?
i want a surface pro with the display of a samsung chromebook.
https://i.kym-cdn.com/entries/icons/original/000/013/974/clap.gif You deserve applause regardless of my impending ban.
while planned obsolesence is a thing, theres got to be something you're omitting here.
Reaction images don't get you banned anymore.
I still have no idea why image macros are bannable now. They weren't even kind of a problem before.
I think the amazing thing about thinness, my note 9 is thin as hell, but it's also stiff as a board. You just aren't bending it
I disagree, I believe it depends entirely on the reaction image, how relevant to the conversation it actually is, if you just post something that doesn't even seem like a reaction someone would have, then sure, fuck off, but if when you look at it, you're immediately thinking, "Oh yeah, I get that completely, I'm even doing that right now." or something along those times, it's perfectly acceptable.
