Aside from the awful launch and studio wildcard being incompetent as always are people surprised their using Ark to base their *new title* off, most likely just leftovers that didn't get removed.

That's where you're wrong because this isn't a new game, it's ARK with a new coat of paint

Let that sink in, after coming out of early access and pumping out a bunch of DLCs they are releasing ARK for the second time (in early access again) and it still has the same bugs, same shitty optimization and same unplayable netcode.

Apparently someone found a hidden menu button on the main menu that opens up ARKs menu, with the DLC menu having an unknown one being called "Ocean"

So chances are it's literally dlc for ARK being sold as a new game.

It makes a lot of sense to reuse ark's base and assets to cut down the costs of building a mmo, but like this all hinges on it being a functional game, which it doesn't seem to be. I'm glad when i see new non-themepark mmos releasing regardless of how copy pasted assets are from a company's other project... but that should make it easier to have the game not be a piece of shit, and yet it seems to be, so it's kind of an exercise in stupidity.

afaik Studio Wildcard didn't have a hand in developing this, only Instinct did (who also worked on ARK)
