http://www.abajournal.com/news/article/lawyer-accused-judge-of-robe-rage-told-opposing-counsel-to-certify-her-stupidity-ethics-charges-say/ A Chicago lawyer has been accused of belittling his opposing counsel during a deposition and then describing the judge’s reaction to his conduct as “robe rage.” Charles Andrew Cohn was accused in a Dec. 12 ethics complaint noted by the Legal Profession Blog. The complaint relies on a transcript of the November 2016 deposition and a court filing by Cohn. During the deposition, Cohn had instructed his client not to answer a question, spurring the opposing lawyer to note her disagreement. “Certify the question,” said the opposing lawyer, who is identified only as “K.H.” in the complaint. “OK,” Cohn replied. “Then certify your own stupidity.” “Counsel, I’m not going to sit here and take insults from you,” K.H. responded. “At this point in time,” Cohn replied, “a man who insults on a daily basis everybody he does business with has now been elected president of the United States. The standards have changed. I’ll say what I want.” Later in the deposition, Cohn interrupted K.H.’s question and said, “Don’t waste your breath.” After she continued, Cohn instructed his client not to answer. “Certify the question,” K.H. again said. Cohn replied: “Motions for sanctions; indicate that on the record. I’m going to get sanctions against your firm like you wouldn’t believe, bitch.” In the court filing, Cohn said his statements were a response to K.H.’s “bullying and improper questions” as well as her “general angry tone.” Cohn also wrote that the judge had himself flown into a rage in the court hearing, describing the situation as a “robe rage incident.”
If she did the same thing you know he'd whine like a little bitch about it. But it is sad that this is what America has turned into, I think this shit is already starting to show itself in the schools.

When Trump got elected people kept saying that assholes were going to start feeling free to be assholes and I don't know if I could find a more perfect example of that being true than this
Like I said when Trump got elected. The biggest threat he poses is to culture, if someone is rewarded for being an abusive fraudulent liar who acts like a petulant child, then the culture will aim to emulate that. We can see it happening right now.
Cohn told the ABA Journal he has certain feelings about the ethics complaint, but he prefers not to discuss them. “I have no comment of any kind at this time,” he said. “I think the safer move is not to say anything.” Yeah, if only you'd made that decision a little earlier, you wouldn't look like such a cocksore.
Sounds like we need to bring good ol' fashioned ass-whoopins back into our culture, I tell you what On a more serious note, this guy should just be disbarred for this behavior. Should set a good precedent that courts are places to be taken seriously, and not to be infested with cunts like this guy.
The "robe rage" bit is where the guy gets almost Sovereign Citizen about it; yeah ok he thinks the other lawyer is an idiot and said so, but then when the judge gets mad about it for breaching courtroom protocol it's "robe rage", not a justified issue with shitty behaviour. That's the part where he's really saying "what, I should be allowed to get away with it". Come on, judge, make an example of this shitbag.
did you just broadly assume that the entirety of our nation will try to emulate him? what? this is a pretty stupid generalization, even for you.
Yeah. it's a really, really dumb idea I had. It's not like the President is an example of a successful person that the society he is part of should emulate, certainly not a historical precedent set by many other presidents. Certainly not. And no, I actually did not "broadly assume the entirety" would, what so ever. You, however read it as "Everyone", this is something you decided to insert into the discussion on your side, and it is not something I said. But please, read whatever I say, and interpret it however you want. I don't really care if you're just going to make obviously silly assumptions about things I didn't say in order to do another "GOTCHA" post.
but to go so far as to say that "it is a threat to our CULTURE", kind of assumes that a significant majority of people will try to emulate him. the only people who would do so are impressionable idiots anyway, so what's really lost? you're just trying to sound smarter than you actually are.
There's enough people emulating him, and enough aspects of him making their way into our culture as to pose a threat to it. There's millions of impressionable idiots in the world, I guess they don't exist? I never claimed this was "my theory", and it certainly isn't. Many other people believe that the most visible people in our cultures shape them in siginificant ways. If alluding to that, and thinking about that is me "Just trying to make myself sound smarter than I am", sure, whatever you say pal. What a trite "Gotcha" this was afterall
if by "threat to our culture", you mean the unfunny series of "comedians" calling him orange and trying to make fun of his other superficial qualities then i'll agree with you. Culture and society has been fucked already, it's basically dead. Hollywood, Chinese influence, and tons of other factors I don't really feel like bothering to mention have pretty much destroyed mainstream American film, art, and games. Oh wait no, sorry, that's not the problem. It's an orange man in a suit bitching about everything in order to distract you from the scary future that stands ahead of us. It's not like the government spies on it's citizens and regularly makes sure that people can't legally speak about the conditions of secret prisons that you end up in for reasons you can't quite know. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Communication_management_unit
What on earth are you bitching about? He meant that it sets a precedent that it's okay for people in power to behave like Donald Trump, and that's not a theory, it's an observable fact. *teleports behind u* whispers in ur ear in a reedy british accent: "its 2018... kid" *teleports away as ur heart explodes from fear and rage*
I’m just gonna laugh and move on. Jesus
he didn't argue that it set's a precedent, he argued that it is a "THREAT TO OUR CULTURE" which is very fitting given this place is called "sensationalist headlines"
How big of you to look for one instance of hyperbole and use it to discredit the whole post's points.
I said threat. Not “destroyer”. You had to have intentionally misread what I said, and gotten mad about that and my clarification of that to have made this argument. hows that for just trying to be smarter than you are?
... what? except that that was his entire point?
Because it wasn't even much hyperbole, Trump is kind of showing people you can succeed by being a massive asshole, and is empowering assholes.
