Ok, This is what it could look like. Shit like that can happen with the internet now.
They're basically the same thing these days, anyway.
While yes, it's more the idea behind it.
No, no it is not.
Disney isn't mulling over buying an internet concern outright by accident, and they're sending a very loud signal to anyone who will listen via this. They've already done it with print and music publishing and movie distribution and last year via networks once already.
Disney's doing this because they know Verizon needs their networks more than Disney needs Verizon. Like, the disparity is insane. Disney is raking in record profits, while Cable TV is dying.
If you actually read the article, this isn't about Verizon imposing some shitty thing on Disney because of the lack of Net Neutrality; It's actually about Disney overcharging Verizon and also trying to force them to make Disney a pre-requisite channel in order to bundle other channels.
Verizon is saying that their price tag is too high.
I think this is more of a monopoly issue with Disney, and that concerns me.
It's kind of hilarious how much worse Disney is to even scumfuck ISP's, in all honesty.
In about twenty, twenty five years, Disney has gone from an up-and-down semi-failing but world-recognizable entertainment brand that uses shady methods to an out-and-out brutalist megacorp hell-bent on absorbing and controlling any and all Western culture.
And now they've got their sights on the culture of China too.
Verizon may want all the money in the world
but hey at least they cut it there
please stop making people with rational opinions look stupid
Disney should be forced to sell lucas arts, fox and Marvel. They aretoo big snd collectively own a huge chunk of the entertainment industry, this is very dangerous. The isps need to be split u to create competition also.
