Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani has called for Robert Mueller to be investigated for alleged destruction of evidence – the latest effort from the White House to undermine the
special counsel’s probe of the 2016 election.
In his latest barracking of Mr Mueller, Mr Giuliani said he should himself be investigated for the alleged destruction of evidence. He said that Mr Mueller should be probed for permitting
text messages between ex-FBI agents Peter Strzok and Lisa Page – former members of the special counsel’s team who were fired after the publication the texts revealed possible anti-
Trump messages – to be erased.
The Hill said a report by the department of justice’s inspector general found large gaps in the preservation of Mr Strzok and Ms Page, who were present in the early part of the
investigation and who were involved in a relationship. The report said a technical glitch was to blame for the FBI’s failure to save those text messages but was able to recover more
than 19,000 from the early part of the Russia probe before Mr Mueller was named special prosecutor in the age of Mr Trump’s firing of FBI director James Comey.
Mr Giuliani told the outlet that Mr Mueller needed to be probed himself.
“Mueller should be investigated for destruction of evidence for allowing those text messages from Strzok to be erased, messages that would show the state of mind and tactics of his
lead anti-Trump FBI agent at the start of his probe,” Mr Giuliani said. “That should be investigated, damn it, that should be investigated fully. You want a special counsel, get one for
that.”
I find it consistently fascinating how often the defenses of Tinyhands boil down to "NO, YOU!"
Given how consistently Team Tinyhanded Traitors project their exact crimes on to everyone else around them, I can't help but suspect our young master Giuliani has been throwing some tapes in the fireplace like a naughty boy
Funny how none of Trump & Company's defensive strategies involve actually attempting to dispute the increasingly enormous mountain of facts and evidence towering above them. Instead, they just try to sow doubt about the investigators themselves.
So since every single allegation Trump has tried to levy against Mueller has proven to be projection, can this be considered an implied admission that the Trump campaign/legal team destroyed evidence?
What do you think caused those fires in Trump Tower? "Electrical issues"? Pffft!
1) I sincerely doubt they sent 19,000 messages in a 1 month period
2) The things you insinuate they did could not be accomplished by two agents alone
I never really got that whole thing about those biased FBI agents. Doesn't the fact that they were fired for it kind of show a lack of bias on the investigation's part?
Not in the world of Trumpers.
It's literally feels before reals.
They feel there was a problem, so to them, it's a problem.
They don't feel that Trump failing to properly file under the emoluments clause(for instance) is worthy of attention, so it isn't.
It's all bullshit and there's not really an easy way out now.
Shouldn't this be like... the other way round?
the good ol' "no u"
Idiot man says idiotic thing.
More breaking news at 5.
Need I go fetch the pertinent Simpsons video or does it just go without saying these days?
Gulliani is like a 10 year old standing outside Ivan Dago's house shouting "Hey come out here and fight me!"
but that's not how this thing is going down. there will be no "put up or shut up" moment, no "stand up and be a man" moment. Mueller will be done when Mueller is done, not before and you won't threaten him to do anything.
