"to warm it up" Sure. And the tissues near my desk are for my runny nose.
I always thought mattresses were fireproof to prevent people from doing silly things like this (or more commonly smoking in bed, falling asleep and letting the lit cig land on the bedding). Surprised they were able to do this unless it was a really old matress.
holy fuck i was just blow drying my mattress like yesterday not to warm it up but i spilled my water bottle on it
How does that even happen
I'm lost, why else would someone ever think of using a blow dryer on a dry mattress?
mattress can be heavy/hard to move, and if you spill water on it it’ll take hours to dry. Blow dryer speeds up drying altho tbh I don’t think a blow dryer could even get a bed hot enough. They probably left it running laying on the bed or some dumb shit
The worst part is that they caught it early, thought they put it out, and went back to bed, allowing the fire to reignite and spread to the building.
Seriously, what are you even implying?
The girl gave the residents of a four-story house a nasty Christmas surprise after snuggling up in bed after a night out — with a hair dryer to warm up the mattress. All cozy, she fell asleep and set the bed on fire. Luckily, she woke up and doused the flames with water after her father helped her drag the mattress onto the balcony. Lulled into a false sense of security, the two went back to bed. The mattress, however, caught alight again, and the fire spread to the outer walls and all the way to the roof. Jesus, reading the title I didn't think that she was IN BED with the hair dryer and fell asleep with it on, so stupid.
God thought she was stupid enough to fall asleep with a hair dryer on that out of spite he re ignited it a few hours later
Its miserable climbing into an ice cold bed on a winter night. Blow dry it for a couple of minutes and it becomes ultra cozy.
I mean, it gets pretty cold here, mine really are for my runny nose.
who the fuck just doesn't sleep while its cold? just bundle up and pass out before it gets hot as fuck, literally so simple when its COLD
Melatonin can be a temperamental bitch.
They aren't. Foam mattresses (basically everyone has one if they aren't wealthy here) have fire-retardant sleeves against it, but the contents are generally highly flammable.
You didn't read the article at all did you?
Nothing in the article answers the question of what else it could be for, all it mentions is to warm it up, stop tip toeing around it
get an electric blanket jesus christ
I think the implication is.. ahem.. secretions.
I can't get to sleep if my feet are cold.
Forgive my first world privilege, but my bed has blankets on it in case of that whole getting cold thing.
I thought this was just a thing in Sachsen. Every bed I've seen when I visit family are those weird foam mattresses and they swear by them, it's like they have a personal grudge against springs.
If the room is cold then the entire bed gets cold, blankets and all.
It's not really that springs are considered worse generally I think, but good springs are a ton more expensive than a (simple) high-quality foam mattress.
