Past action cartoons operating at a loss is an interesting thing to know. Still, mobile games are more than capable to replace toys as 'merchandise', if they don't skimp on quality.

Wakfu, Dragon Prince and Subway surfers are all recent cartoons designed to advertise a game. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=GtdyFClcevg I actually didn't even know vid related was based on a game until I saw my brother playing it on his phone.
