Rust is dying slowly! - General Discussion

Absolutely pointless playing now as everyone is cheating, reporting is all well and good but it doesn't solve the problem. We were getting raided by a team of 4 cheaters and it took another team of cheaters to stop them. What chance does the average player have vs head shot machines. I have played this alot in the past and never seen cheating on a scale like this. Virtually 1 in 5 is cheating at the minute, from full headshot machines, to recoil scripts. I accept the quantity of bans being handed out it at an all time high but so many go unnoticed. I posted before about it and got told play modded, but thats even worse with cheaters. This game is dying from this infection of cheating scum, people are even resorting to rage hacking as people only raid with hacks on or offline. Rust is a great game with good developers but its killing the servers the amount of cheats. Servers lose pop very quickly as people rage quit due to this.

If it were easy to sniff out all hacks forever the devs would've already done it. The battle between hackers and the devs/anticheat is an eternal cat and mouse game that will only end when literally zero players are launching Rust on a daily basis, a long time from now. If there are people playing Rust, there will always be someone who's got inadequacy problems or just wants to troll and will look to hack to feel good about themselves and be better than others. Play on better servers that are actively moderated. If you play on the official servers, which are almost never directly monitored, you may experience lots of hacker activity. And then they get HWID banned, which you admit is happening at "an all time high".

Rust isn't perfect. It's impossible for any game to be perfect. When you pick a server to play on, you have a metric shitload of choices - officials, community, or modded. If you were getting raided by a team of four cheaters, it sounds like you were playing on an official server where there is little to no active moderation. And, I will admit, EAC is not very good at instabanning people who are blatantly cheating, but I'm not knowledgeable in terms of anticheat coding so I have no idea what I'm talking about. If you want to avoid cheaters, play on Rustafied, Moose, Reddit, or moderated Community / Modded servers. Earlier this wipe, my group of 3-4 had our 140+ rocket cave bunker blown open (Canada 2) by a Chinese clan that had a separate base specifically for cheaters so their main didn't get deleted when they got mass-banned. We simply moved to Rustafied Medium and in a few days had almost as much as we did before; If you don't want to deal with the cheaters don't play on Officials.

Rust is not slowly dying, it is at it's highest player count it has ever had. Please do not make such bold claims without good evidence

there are quite a shitload of people with hours in the hundreds to thousands that's quite a bit more than a "Few" hours

This is exactly the thing yeah if you pick the right server everything will be fine. I don't have to play rust to know this, because this is something that's been true for every game with dedicated servers since the dawn of time. He said "if you don't want cheaters don't play on official" and this as well What he means is "Don't play on official servers" "Stop playing on official servers" Just move server, I have no idea where "Match the cheaters" is even coming from, that doesn't even make sense.

A majority of the time the offending servers are the officials for a respective region. I don't check every single cheater complaint thread but I don't believe I've ever seen a hacker/cheater complaint that wasn't for an official server. Oddly enough when I play Rust I play U.S. East Official(I don't play seriously and aware of the risks) and my encounters with actual cheaters are sporadic at best, a far cry from people's claims that 96% of the player base cheats.

that 'rust is dying' complaint is out of date, it's never been true, at least not yet. It's 24 hour peak is incredibly close to its all time peak, which is an incredibly good sign for its stability. Obviously it won't last forever, but it's just demonstratively wrong.

Hacker is the person with flying hack, and fast speed jumps for me. Too many people with scripts and aim esp in rust. That`s fact. Pro or Script you cant know 100% this. We cant change anything I care only if someone says in my server about hacker and cant do anything to prove 100% if he is pro or use mouse script. F7 report him and then say that facepunch will find if he is cheating. In other servers where i am normal player Do not care, because thats video game. Again report to f7 and respawn. Hope that one day they will make rust better and add more ways to detect hackers keeps my spirit.
