That's a really big deal, especially for the area, as Thailand even boarders against Malasiya, which has a huge problem with fundies going around with machete gangs to murder people over such things.
Good on Thailand, hopefully that's the foot in the door for the area.

Thailand is kinda famously known (or made fun) for traps. I don't think this is going to change any minds if the local people in power continue to preach to demonize it. Great for them Thais tho. When US legalized same-sex marriage here was a wave in social media but it dissipated in less than a week, soon people forget and went back to being intolerant. Non-Muslims view LGBT as insecure.
