https://www.nydailynews.com/news/politics/ny-pol-fbi-ag-evidence-crimes-trump-golf-20181228-story.html New Jersey prosecutors have collected evidence that supervisors at President Trump’s Garden State golf club may have committed federal immigration crimes — and the FBI as well as special counsel Robert Mueller have played part in the inquiry, the Daily News has learned. Anibal Romero, a Newark attorney who represents several undocumented immigrants who used to work at the Trump National Golf Club in Bedminster, said Friday he recently met with investigators from the state attorney general’s office and handed over fraudulent green cards and Social Security numbers that management at the club allegedly procured and gave his clients, Victorina Morales and Sandra Diaz. Before he met with the state prosecutors, Romero said he reached out to Mueller’s office because, while he wanted to contact federal authorities, he was concerned about looping in the Justice Department, which was headed by Jeff Sessions at the time. Mueller’s office, which is separately investigating Trump’s campaign for possible collusion with Russians during the 2016 election, made contact and informed Romero the matter was not within their jurisdiction. A few weeks later, an FBI agent in New Jersey called Romero. Romero said he’s stayed in touch with the FBI and the attorney general’s office but declined to confirm whether either of the agencies have formally opened investigations. “I’m confident that federal and state authorities will conduct a complete and thorough investigation,” Romero said. Morales, a Guatemalan national who is still employed at the club but has stopped going to work, and Diaz, a Costa Rican national who used to work there and has since obtained legal status, are among at least five undocumented housekeepers at the club who allege they were set up with fraudulent documents and subjected to abuse and racial harassment.
Irony. Just Pure IRONY
I hope this gets broadcast over major news networks. This is the pinnacle of GOP strategy of pushing anti-immigration laws and then hiring illegal immigrants as virtual forced labor. "Job complaints? Lemme speed dial ICE for ya"

Of course he did. He was on late night with Letterman and talking about the US needs to bring jobs back and stop outsourcing then Letterman pulls out his shirts and ties he sells and points out how they're made in Bangledesh and China
Because of course he would hire illegals on the down low while at the same time demonizing illegal immigrants. Is anyone surprised?
Let me guess, there's a Trump tweet from like five years ago saying that CEOs of companies that hire illegal immigrants should be locked up or shot or something. (I'd search for it myself but I hard-blocked him on twitter, I can't even see his profile and I don't feel like undoing that right now)
And Trump's response, IIRC, was simply "*shrug*".
then when caught he says everybody does it so why shouldn't he and deflects back to liberals
I know everyone here hates Trump and I agree with the user above who said he's a hypocrite for wanting more American jobs but then outsourcing production to China himself (I'd call it demagoguery), but do you guys really think he knew? The article says 'supervisors' at the club faked documents... is it truly reasonable to think that Trump knows exactly what his managers are doing? I get the hate boner, I do, but to think a CEO knows exactly what each of his line managers are doing in their day-to-day is laughable.
I have no doubt in my mind that jokes were made at some point about it during his time running the company. The the vast majority of the elite class are constantly skirting the lines and breaking laws, I have no doubt this is news to him.
I'd agree that he likely helped perpetuate a corporate environment that prioritized results above all, ultimately leading to practices such as this, but I wouldn't say he explicitly knew. It's too small scale (or at least seems to be) and the risk/reward of him okaying this is thus utterly ridiculous when you look at the damage this could have thepretically done to his position given his strong anti-migrant platform.
I'm sure he didn't know about these particular employees, that would be strange at best. But the fact that they use cheap immigrant labor and mess with the system, sure, hell, he probably encouraged it.
I've got you, friend. There are levels beyond the deep frier that man was not meant to know. Behold! https://files.facepunch.com/forum/upload/133737/c87bb9de-7eb1-48dc-b665-64c6610e9555/image.png I bet he'll rant about how civil forfeiture is unfair when the entirety of Mar-a-lago gets seized due to being a criminal asset of a criminal enterprise, which the Fed is absolutely in their rights to do, in flying contrast to 'don't wait for the courts, just take their guns'. Rules are for Thee, not for He.
As the purported head of the Trump brand and Chief Exec, he absolutely has the power to direct his subordinates to enforce internal policies and audits to prevent hiring of undocumented workers. Funnily enough, he clearly chose not to. Executives and managers are absolutely responsible for what happens below them because it's their job to either know what's going on directly below them, or have trustworthy people below them report on issues happening further down the line. For someone who runs on such an anti-immigrant platform, the fact that he didn't take steps to prevent hiring undocumented workers shows he's clearly full of shit
This is a reminder that Mar-a-Lago tries to grab as many allocated seasonal immigrant worker permits as it can -- while not even bothering to have a presence at local job fairs whenever they occur. These work visas are only supposed to be issued to supplement staffing at an American business when the local employment market is unable to sustain the business's needs. Trump, by way of his entire management staff, is saying that the state of Florida does not have any suitable workers so they need to hire abroad. They want workers who don't understand their rights and can be intimidated by having their passports unlawfully confiscated by management and/or their work visas threatened.
We need a new starting image
No wonder why he likes the fucking Saudis.
What did the original look like? I’ve forgotten
There've already been many crimes like this that Trump has been implicated in. Feds may not be able to find sufficient evidence proving he had knowledge of them, but when his day in court comes, all of these things will be presented. He will be snowed under in charges until the public can no longer believe that this man, at the head of these organizations, knew nothing about their criminal activities. All of it will ensure his sentencing is harsher.

its worth remembering Nixon's first real cracks were caused by investigative reporting on his tax practices and investigations into what were minor tax errors.
If you can find a nice (720p) image of Hogarth saluting in his mirror, that will be the next smurfy edit base.
Not 720p, but the Iron Giant wiki has a pretty solid shot of it (click to see the larger resolution) : https://vignette.wikia.nocookie.net/irongiant/images/1/13/Salute.jpg/revision/latest?cb=20150330045853
As I've said above, he could have likely perpetuated such an environment, but if you really believe he explicitly directed these people to do this you're deluded. It just wouldn't make sense, as said, if discovered he was complicit then it would damage his platform massively. The Trump organisation has 22,450 employees according to Google, how many of those do you think are classed as 'supervisors'? If you really think the man at the top knows exactly what they're doing then, I'm sorry, but you're letting all your brain juices fuel that hate boner. For example, Salesforce has 25,000 employees. If a 'supervisor' in that company practices some shitty sales tactics, do you instantly witch-hunt the CEO and declare he should know and approve what every employee is doing at all times? No, no you don't. As I've said above, I get the hate and grievances, and a lot of it is indeed justified... but come on. Complaining about every tangentially related thing to [thing you don't like] just makes you look rabid, not look like people with legitimate concerns and points.
Like that's ever stopped him from doing seedy shit before.
If this was any other company you'd be moaning about the managers, not the CEO, but because this is el trumpo you all really want it to be something big. Again, fair enough, he's done/doing some bad stuff, but the result of seizing on every little thing like this is that it makes your views look petty and takes away your credibility. He's done seedy shit before and his company culture is likely rotten, but again, bullshitting that he was definitely the evil mastermind behind abusing the system for/and these 7 illegal workers (in a company of 22,450) is a really big stretch.
perfect
Man why ever could people want Trump to be held accountable for his actions or taken down a peg in any way Really makes you think......
