"Its only bad unless the UK does it."
Low energy boilrig cant muster up the strength to even make a good shitpost, totally gives up - SAD! On topic: good luck expecting blind fools to cooperate for the greater good, or for the sake of humanity - stubborn pride has always been one of humanity's greatest downfalls. Otherwise we wouldnt have such huge problems with a rise in right wing nationalism globally.
as opposed to a fractured nationalistic europe?
It lets his fan-fic Neo-british empire be able to conquer the filthy eurotrash heathens of the Continent.
Oh my God.
I love how this is the post that finally gets him permabanned.
This post might not have killed the universe but it is still really stupid.
Ding dong the witch is fucking dead!
greater responsibility for Germany. Even more? Every time a country fucks up, it seems German tax payers need to pay up. Every time something happens, Germany needs to take the responsibility for anything. Taxes are second highest in the world. Germans are pretty much second class citizens and have been for a while, considering how little is done for them with their money that they pay into the state. Boy am I glad that this woman will be gone in a while. For better or worse.
The CDU/CSU is hellish scared of losing votes, and they have been losing since the last 3 election cycles, that they get a shot at a 4th one is unlikely. But to their credit, how Conservatives go, our flavour are still very moderate and sensical albeit slow when it comes to societal progress, world war 2 after-effect of a mix of minor guilt and caution still is strongly present, even today. They actually show some spine in stand up against xenophobia even if that costs them political currency of the more right-leaning part of their base. The current party coalition partner, the SPD has also taken very heavy losses, how will all of this play out in the next federal election. Who knows, most of the country wishes to not have the AfD has a governing party.
Obligatory: https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=MP6B6Y9mVdk On another note there's a fair bit of irony in that statement given Merkel and her party have been in their seat of power for just over a decade now.
Given the newest change is Merkel leaving politics, i'd say shes right this one time. Good riddance.
So far from the times we "paid up" we made a lot of fucking money. Especially from Greece.

The problem with Boilrig getting banned is now I can't ask him why a bigger stronger Europe is a bad thing. That being said he'll likely spout something about Globalism but now I can't ask him why globalism is bad. No really, that's usually %99 of these kinds of arguments is "They are globalist and globalism is bad mmkay?" and if you ask them WHY its bad they go off at you for either trying to justify globalism or not knowing why its bad and just re-iterating the "it's bad mmkay!" line while possibly throwing something in about "white genocide" and "Literal Satan Soros approves it so it must be bad." You ask them why Soros is bad and their argument usually boils down to "he is pushing the globalist agenda" and we get to that nice circular logic that wrong people love to wallow in.
That's probably one of the most pointless things you could possibly do in your life.
I'm setting the bar low this year so the rest of it feels good by comparison.
And good riddance!
CDU, party of Merkel, is not known for being party of change. So her words are, well, rather empty. This would be like if May says she is for strong and stable... oh.
Good riddance. Christ.
Bye, delusional non-British nationalist pri@k
Merkel's right, this is a nice change.
Meh, you should be careful what you wish for. Merkel was one of the better options for a long time, considering it's the CDU.
I wanted Merkel to say goodbye after all these years of terrible decisions during the economic crisis, but I'm fearing that AFD will rise to the power as soon as she leave, there isn't a common front make that impossible.
Merkel is left-leaning for her party, unfortunately, so a lot of this citizens-getting-screwed-over-for-corporations stuff you mention would likely get a lot worse if her strongest opponents within the party got their ways (which it currently doesn't quite look like, so that's good). Same with infrastructure and education investments, as well as securing retirement funds. (Merz's shareholder proposal is just the same broken system that doesn't correct for falling birth rates, but with even less guarantees as far as I can tell.) On the other hand, Merkel is pretty much stability incarnate. It's going to be interesting how things develop. Hopefully for the better.
