I've had now an asus router and an asus modem and both have had me banging my head against the wall for probably 100 hours total just to keep the things somehow working after spending +300€ on them.
Can anyone recommend a brand of modems that actually work and don't crap themselves after a few months? One that i can just setup and forget about?
Looking for a 4G mobile broadband modem.
Huawei gear is basically the gold standard in Finnish use right now, with the B525S-65A being pretty much the standard "set up and forget" modem.

There's also a thread on IO-Tech for the modem, I don't recall there being any real complaints about the device itself there, just specific external antennas and the local network.

Whatever you do, don't get a ZTE MF286.
We used the Netgear LB1120 for almost a year hooked up to an external Yagi antenna, and it worked extremely well for us. Even with a tiny tiny signal we were able to pull down 20 to 40mbits symmetrical with about 60ms ping.
I really dont know if it’s compatible with your carriers/bands over there though, so check that first.
