WASHINGTON – President Donald Trump rang in the new year Tuesday by denouncing a new Democratic plan to re-open the government because it lacks money for a wall along the
U.S. Mexico border.
"The Democrats, much as I suspected, have allocated no money for a new Wall. So imaginative!" Trump tweeted. "The problem is, without a Wall there can be no real Border Security -
and our Country must finally have a Strong and Secure Southern Border!"
During a New Year's Day tweet storm from the White House, Trump also issued a mocking season's greetings to his critics. "HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE, INCLUDING THE
HATERS AND THE FAKE NEWS MEDIA!" Trump tweeted in all caps. He added: "2019 WILL BE A FANTASTIC YEAR FOR THOSE NOT SUFFERING FROM TRUMP DERANGEMENT
SYNDROME. JUST CALM DOWN AND ENJOY THE RIDE, GREAT THINGS ARE HAPPENING FOR OUR COUNTRY!"
As Democrats prepare to take charge of the House of Representatives when it convenes on Thursday, they proposed a plan to re-open the government while giving the parties more
time to negotiate the sticking point that led to the shutdown: Trump's proposed border wall.

The tweets are getting outright disturbing
I thought only Trump and his following suffer from Trump Derangement Syndrome?
They are projecting.
him signing it was never a reality. Mitch Mcconnell will be under pressure every day to put the CR up to vote, and every day he delays is one less day till the CR expires. He is either going to have to deal with Trump not the house.
every time i think "this is what him flipping out looks like", he shows he's not even at one one-hundredth of his maximum buttmad capacity
Yeah 2019 is gonna be great because now with the House under Democrat control he's going to accomplish even fucking less than these past 2 years.

I can't wait for the first time Congress sends him a necessary tax increase in order to pay for, you know, all this deficit spending that's been happening since that $1.5 trillion tax cut to benefit the rich. I expect he'll try and threaten to shut the government down then, too.
Angry person tells others to calm down. In other news, water is the wettest it's ever been from the standpoint of water.
Because nothing makes me as optimistic as some yelling loudly to calm down and enjoy the ride.
Veto Over-Ride him.
Show him his power can be neutered like a dog. Maybe then he'd either realize he's being dumb (vv), or quadruple down like he normally does.
no, we're all suffering from his derangement
Honestly, does he even have the authority to shut the government down? Can't Congress come along and say "no fucker we got shit to do" and re-open it?
The Senate has the votes to override the veto, Republicans would just be loathe to do that because going against Trump and giving into the Dems is something Republicans almost never do because it gets them in deep trouble with their base.
The reason the government is shut down is that it couldn't secure it's budget. The government can't run in full again until the budget is restored. That would require 60 votes in the Senate, a majority in the House, and the president's signature. Each one of them has the power to stop the process.
So he's literally capable of effectively "holding his bweff" until he gets what he wants. Amazing.
A time-machine to inform the Founding Fathers that their "perfect" system wasn't particularly well thought-out would be pretty nice right about now.
Congress can override POTUS and there's enough votes to override, but it would make Republicans look bad.
His veto can be overruled by a 2/3rds majority in the Senate and House.
I'm sure that rule was written at a time when they figured "oh, people who are elected will be level-headed and non-partisan enough to make this work!"
The fact our goverment still mostly works with how fuckheaded the GOP has become says something about the strength of our system.
I mean, currently it's *not* working but I kinda see what you're stabbing at.
Buttmad Capacity. That made me giggle

I was exactly spot on lmao
Shamelessly stolen comment I found elsewhere
Even their few 'victories' have not brought them any real happiness. No joy, only the mean-spirited elation that accompanies the opportunity to bray they 'owned the libs'. Their conviction that they are perpetual victims has transformed them into malcontents. They are impossible to satisfy, and are only motivated by fear and outrage.
"Haters"?
When did Kayne West become president?
This is nothing. I remember when he tweeted put that he wished everyone, including haters and losers, a happy 9/11.
He's an obnoxious manchild who genuinely doesn't care about anybody else.
Throwback Tuesday to some TV news interview shortly after 9/11, when he also commented how glad he was that his building was one of the tallest in New York after the twin towers fell.
This isn't funny at all. It's disturbing and sad.
This is exactly correct. Under Trump (and not coincidentally, under Vladimir Putin) politics ceases to be about making progress or implementing policy, but inflicting pain. Trump's core supporters are willing to put up with massive government dysfunction and a decimated social safety net because, they are convinced that others are suffering even more than they are as a result of this. By instructing them on who the enemy is, Trump gives meaning to their suffering. It's a way of staying in power without actually governing or addressing inequality. It's called Sadopopulism.
The president basically tweeted:

Haters?
What the fuck... Does Trump think this is all a joke or something?
