https://www.theguardian.com/science/2019/jan/03/china-probe-change-4-land-far-side-moon-basin-crater A Chinese spacecraft has become the first ever to land on the far side of the moon, according to state-run media, in a giant leap for human space exploration. The China National Space Administration (CNSA) landed the robotic probe Chang’e 4 in the unexplored South Pole-Aitken basin, the largest, oldest, deepest, crater on the moon’s surface. Davis said China’s successful landing could “set a fire under the Americans”, who may not like the idea that the next person to set foot on the moon may be a Chinese Taikonaut, as they are unofficially called. “I imagine we will see an announcement the Chinese do intend to send Taikonauts to the moon by 2030,” said Davis.
the chinese will send people to the moon about the same time we send people to mars which is to say always 20 years from now.
Great, now the moon's under surveillance for going against party ideals as well
Well at least it's the Chinese who'll have to deal with the moon Nazis, should keep them occupied for a while.
they're getting stronger...
Hopefully it'll spur another space race. When the Chinese decide on something, they will do it regardless of ethics or danger. I fully expect taikonauts on the moon in 10 years or less, even if a few die in accidents or dinky spacecraft that the communist government will probably cover up anyway. I suppose not giving a fuck about its citizens is kind of an advantage they have as a nation, compared to the democratic West. A terrible advantage, but it'll get them to the moon.
"Today, the Chinese Government has proudly announced their successful landing on the first ever one-way trip to the Moon."
when will china start probing uranus
Well geez then you better get to work Anyways, the Chinese definitely won't send a man to the moon in 2030, they'll do it in 5 years tops
when I move to china
they have a soyuz derived spacecraft and that's about it. As we learned in Apollo, that's like 1/8th of the way there. Their heavy launchers are not man rated in any capacity (though I'm not sure that's an issue for china) and their space station was mostly just a slight extension to their soyuzlike vehicle and less of a space station.
Chinese takeout delivered to the moon when??

Hopefully China kicks America's ass back into gear.
Why would America care? They've been there, done that. They're more focused on backing SpaceX and their mars missions.
