In the video of the incident, Taylor, a white man, can be seen leaning across the counter and grabbing the young black female cashier until she lurches forward
Why is their race important enough to add to this if the argument was over plastic straws?
I think about this pretty often. At what point does identifying race cross the line from descriptive to unnecessary or even imply something else?
It seems like journalists only bring up race when at least one subjects of the story is non-white.
Because in Trump's america everything is inherently related to race, this guy might not look dangerous but he's a white male which surely makes him a Nazi that is secretly waiting for Trump to finally order the death squads to roll out so he can finally hunt minorities /s.
In reality, because they want to generate controversy and get these sweet sweet clicks and visits to gain more ad revenue.
"I want her fired" what a total piece of shit. Also what the fuck is the manager thinking trying to continue to serve him? Get his ass the fuck out of there before he starts beating more of your employees.
Reminds me of that one chipotle story where the manager refused to make the burrito until the guys paid, and it got turned into a racial profiling thing and got her fired. Turns out the dudes have a history of dine and dashing, and have posted about such on their twitter.
Because the media was so hellbent on clicks they had to feed into the racial narrative instead of it being a manger doing what a manger should do when denying nonpaying customers service.
I'm not excusing racist pieces of shit, don't get me wrong, my issue is purely with traditional and social media jumping the gun on racial profiling when often enough it's just because the dude or dudete in question was just being a dick, regardless of race.
Thank god for the /s because I was about to armchair criticize the shit outta you lol
Nice to see my state in the news again.
For April Fools every media outlet should report everyone by their race, even if everyone involved is white. People would be rereading the stories to try and find the black guy/girl in the story because the only time race is relevent in the media is when one or more people aren't white.
That lady was serving up some mcfists on that dude.
How do people get this worked up over dumb shit? Out of straws is a bummer but why take it this far?
Maybe it's because our country has a long deep seated history in mistreating African Americans, especially when they're in some form of role commonly seen as a servant (such as, to average joe, a fast food cashier because "customer is always right")
Because the manager probably knows it's being recorded and doesn't want to risk getting fired.
It should never be mentioned, unless it's related to the reason or story of the article. It's a cheep trick that creates arguments and noise, regardless of what race, and in turn the noise gets the article more clicks.
because white fast food workers dont exist, right?
fuck off with that shit, dude
The article reporting their race wouldn't matter if you fucks didn't immediately think it was to try and pander to race when you saw it.
One could say playing the race card was quite a straw man.
There's a simple trick you can use to see if something is fucky - just reverse the races.

Are you telling me this doesn't stink to you?
Not really. Sexism is also an issue but no one is calling the author out for mentioning their sex.
"man" "woman" are standard descriptors though
never will you see some shit like "human attacks human at skating rink"
it's mentioning race that's unusual
What is your point here? By saying "how do people get this worked up" are you referring to the man, woman, or both?
Because the dude grabbed her. That's all I have to say and it's all the evidence needed. Not once did I even have to mention the words black or white which are not at all as important as their actions under the law.
