The UK’s largest bakery chain, Greggs, is to launch a vegan sausage roll this week.
The company, which sells 1.5m traditional pork sausage rolls a week, says the new version, which will be on sale from Thursday, has been designed to mirror some of the original’s classic features. It will have, Greggs says, 96 layers of light and crisp puff pastry – made with vegetable oil – and a “bespoke” Quorn filling.

As someone who eats an almost exclusively plant based diet (If the choice is I'd be starving then I'll still eat something with a bit of dairy in it) and attends various local vegan meetups, festivals etc, I guarantee that 99% of people who complain about vegans have never actually met one and exclusively base their opinions off the extremist stereotype/circlejerk.
These hypocrites are happy to piss and moan about people/diets they know nothing about like its the most offensive thing ever and have never had any contact with but would flip their shit if anyone said anything about what they are eating.
I'm pretty sure there's more militant anti-vegans at this point than militant vegans, given that vegans are a small minority of the population.
The vegans have over the span of decades successfully calculated and executed a maneuver an order of magnitude more complex than solving for every three body problem to slingshot certain demographics of meat-eaters ahead of them for how pointlessly outraged they appear.

Or maybe we could, you know, stop this freefall western society is in with wealth inequality exceeding Gilded Age levels, and then there wouldn't be an epidemic of pissed-off people looking for an acceptable target to bash to work out their own frustration and inequity. But that seems a lot harder than disconnecting routers, so it's even less likely.
So? I could understand making a big deal if they were like "yo, sausages are bad, don't eat them, eat our new vegan roll instead" but they just announced they have a new variety now

I had the pleasure of trying one (not a vegan myself). Well it sorta smells like a sausage roll, it looks like one of those horrible sausages you get in one, and you can kinda taste a fake sausage however it was slightly cardboardy.
They're gonna have a heart attack when KFC launch their veggie option this year.

why is everyone in this thread getting so heated over the twitter replies... i dont know about piers morgan but most twitter replies are just making jokes about it like they make jokes about everything else, why are vegan sausage rolls so sacred that no one can take the piss out of them?
because piers morgan style jokes are what ruins the entire thing.
