Sounds to me more like putting everyone's data into neat little easier-to-phish bubbles.
so, er, does this mean it is soon possible for me to earn some cents by allowing parts of my privacy be mined? Something that they are already doing without my input or compensation?
So, they take our information and if we want to be able to have ownership to it we have to pay? What's the difference between that and extortion?
They'll probably still sell it anyway
seems like the future we're heading into is one where data collection is something the rich and people who can pay up the premium for avoid while those that can't get spyware.
It's like someone deciding to charge you for admission into your own car.
I think it's the opposite; you can control all of your information and sell it to companies, if you like.
Wait, how can this work with GDPR in place?
GDPR are only for EU-citizens. They could be targeting any other country outside EU.
They just need to block their data-vacuum cleaner in EU, remove EU currencies and languages and they're good to go.
