I don't know if I'd say best hope, but he's pretty up there. I definitely think he would have beat Trump if he'd run last time, but he had a lot going on and needed to rest. I haven't really decided yet who I think is my best bet.
I kind of agree.
Please let it be Bernie or Biden, don't fucking nominate that shitbag clinton
yes good old fashioned centrism is what this country needs, its certainly worked my entire life and we have no massive structural and social issues left in this country because of it.
As long as it is real centrism and not some fucked idea of centrism that's been dragged to left or right (mostly right) by extremists.
She isn't running so it shouldn't be a problem
People fear she will, regardless of how unfounded it is.
Nah we need social democrats at the very least.
Has it been the right? I've mostly seen centralism under attack from the left.

The first one's a popular image that I've seen a dozen times, pretty much anytime someone isn't pro-Antifa. That's not centralism, that's a strawman attack on centralists. These images are saying "If you're not with us, you're against us", painting everyone who's not pro-Antifa has idiots/enemies. I don't see many of these from the right-side of things, they usually just strawman liberals directly.
"Real centrism" is legitimately further left than the way the Democratic party currently operates. Too many people fall for the trap of Dems = left, GOP= right and the "center" is in between those two parties. The "center" of the Dems and GOP is just straight up right-wing politics.
Joe Biden is a bad candidate. He represents Obama's corporate centrism that didn't really change much of anything. He's yet to get on board universal healthcare, and his commitment to fighting wealth inequality is pretty nebulous. He's said things like "I don't think 500 billionaires are the reason we're in trouble." America needs a strong left candidate and Biden isn't that.
you can't exactly say sanders is too old if you think biden is your best bet
I gave money to Warren already but I'd gladly campaign for Biden in 2020
ya they're basically the same age. Its kind of shocking they don't get that a young charismatic leader running against an old white man is what it takes to beat the republicans when Obama and Bill Clinton were both exactly this
Why? Why do we want more liberalism? It literally created trump.
Liberalism is safe. If it's gone I'd say it's more likely to be replaced with brutal fascism then social democracy or something further left.
Unless we wake up and elect a progressive who is unafraid to tax the superwealthy, pursue aggressive reforms, and fight for a significantly better future, this country is lost. Democrats might win in 2020, but in the long run they will lose.
I fear a President who legitmately stands up against the wealthy and the military industrial complex will be assassinated.
What exactly do people see in Biden over Clinton, other than actually having charisma
he's charismatic in the same way Trump is, they both say dumb things that get a certain audiance to cheer.
So dont try?
If only we had listened to Eisenhower
If we are unwilling to stand up for what’s right in spite of threat of violence, then our country is not one worth saving.
There is only one way forward, and that is the way of democracy and moral responsibility—whatever the cost.
I get how he can think that, Democrat's thinking is still down to the post-Reagan ideas that leftism doesn't work so we need neoliberalism and a more centrist attitude, but America's not the same as it was then, and we don't need another corporate-loving centrist candidate, especially one that's an old white guy. People want something more than that.
No offence intended, but I think it's pretty short sighted not to see why progressives dislike centrists but the right wing are willing to tolerate them. It's because centrism is defined by inaction, Biden, Obama and Clinton's thing is basically just maintaining the way things are with short term course correction but no long term change. The GOP are enjoying their lives right now, most politicians, left or right, can spend their entire lives doing bugger all and have all the money and power they want. Biden doesn't want change, and neither does Mike Pence or Ted Cruz or any other Republican. Meanwhile, I'd imagine the people dying from having no healthcare, or homelessness, or being fucking shot by the police would very much like some change.
Progressives, or "the left" have largely identified this, and that's why we consider centrism completely incompatible with our worldview.
As opposed to what? Am I supposed to vote for a Republican? Or a socialist?
Best hope to actually win, sure. Getting a candidate that actually represents the views of progressives seems like such a distant idea still. It's incredibly frustrating.
The thing about "both sides suck" rhetoric is that it's totally true, but the current political divide over civil rights and economic issues is so important and intense that failing to pick a side is a problem in itself. The complacent moderates have historically always been the biggest roadblocks in these kinds of historical turning points.
The Democrats fucking suck but a vote for the GOP is a vote directly against my best interests. All of our best interests.
Liberalism didn’t fail, neoliberals did.
It’s not a misunderstanding. This image often gets used against people who agree with antifa’s cause, but not their methods and lack of organization.
You can just keep voting them in, though. If campaigning against «deep state» can get motherfucking Trump out of all people elected, I wager a clear-as-day political assassination of a sitting president would be stroke enough on the figurative revolutionnary boner of the electorate to bag the next election for their spiritual successor.
The downtrodden are always eager to rebel against a statu quo they can identify. I wish they weren't so easily swayed into voting for face-eating leopards.
Isn't Joe Biden just a corporate shill like Hillary?
