I mean, it hasn't happened yet, but smartphones have, so they aren't technically wrong...
Ugh, this reminds me of the time I over-heard one of my granma's kooky conspiracy videos claiming AI was the anti-christ.
Seems like a very dynamic and fluid anti-christ. Just whoever is the guy that runs shit is obviously the anti-christ.
It's a silly message, but a very true and real problem, given time there WILL be one organization overseeing this stuff for a large number of countries, and we do need to talk about that. So for that reason, preach away.
It honestly wouldn't surprise me.
The real antichrist is the friends we made along the way
in my home town in bible belt USA every single past president has been an anti-christ. except for our current savior ofc.
people are crazy
I could buy that one if we're talking true AI with the capacity to outsmart humanity. Malevolant AI determined to exterminate humanity could pretty aptly be dubbed an anti-christ.
pretty sure the head of state wanting to return the holy russian empire and dominate the rest of the world who also has a PHD in torture might be more of an immediate issue.
So, the rouge schismatic Russian Patriarch is believing Western Christian idea of Antichrist is very Unorthodox thing in their hopefully former main denomination except few Independent Eastern Orthodox sects who also fully believed in Antichrist idea like Old believers.
Technology evolves but the human brain apparently doesn't
what the fuck is the "anti-christ" supposed to be anyway other than some nebulous "I hate this guy therefore I'll call him that"
like for the 10 years I attended church as a kid and in my teens our pastor never mentioned anything like that ever
Honestly, I feel like Jesus's disciples weren't looking far ahead enough to see the possibility of Christianity catching on like this and essentially becoming corrupted. They had no idea that eventually huge amounts of Christians would end up being against virtually everything Jesus taught. If that's how you define an Antichrist, Ronald Reagan and Donald Trump are prime candidates.
Well, it's true that they weren't looking ahead. Anti-Christ and the end of the world stuff mostly comes from Revelations, but they were very possibly predicting something that was to come to pass within their own lifetimes. The Roman Empire oppressed early Christians pretty harshly; if you read about a lot of early Saints, they mostly died via horrible forms of persecution. To them, the idea that Jesus would return in their lifetime and throw down this harsh and evil empire and deliver the Earth to them was fucking amazing.
But now it's 2000 years later and every year someone claims the world is ending, and it's been like that for centuries, if not longer. I wonder if it's some psychological aspect of humanity that we always feel like we're living in the end times.
Not everyone feels that way, but it's an awfully compelling thought.
Makes you feel like your life is special when you think you're going to take part in the single most important event of all of humanity.
If the ending is already set out, there's no need to face the harrowing uncertainty of real life
And of course in the case of a religious armageddon it's the ultimate vindication where all evil is defeated and the person believing it is rewarded with eternal bliss.
I had a fourth point but I forgot while typing ...in any case psychological traps are a thing and this one's a bunch in one package.
I think we just need a healthy dose of nationalism and respect for sovereignty to counter ever encroaching globalism.
I think we need to knock down walls and embrace our neighbors because countries are made up things.

Strictly read the Bible do not mention a singular Anti-Christ. Anti-Christs (plural) are everyone that is against Christ so strictly anyone of another religion+Atheism. That said it is mentioned in the context of someone against Christ's teachings. There is a "Beast" mentioned in revelation as some sort of nebolous world leader who is often congregated with the Anti-Christ but never called that.
Woth noting is that the whole Ant-Christ and rapture theology is a fairly modern and very American theology and very mainly based on one of Jesus's parables comparing his return to Noah's Flood (and in that context, being "taken away" could be taken as a bad thing).
It is funny how this:
“Then there shall be two men in the field; one will be taken, and one will be left. Two women will be grinding at the mill; one will be taken, and one will be left. Therefore be on the alert, for you do not know which day your Lord is coming."
Is taken to be a literal descriptions of events and this:
"There was a rich man who was dressed in purple and fine linen and lived in luxury every day. At his gate was laid a beggar named Lazarus, covered with sores 21and longing to eat what fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
“The time came when the beggar died and the angels carried him to Abraham’s side. The rich man also died and was buried. In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham far away, with Lazarus by his side. So he called to him, ‘Father Abraham, have pity on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue, because I am in agony in this fire. But Abraham replied, ‘Son, remember that in your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things, but now he is comforted here and you are in agony.’
Is obviously just a parable and not a a real comment on rich vs poor people in the afterlife. Also notes the text does not go "LAZARUS ACCEPTED JESUS AS HIS OWN PERSONAL SAVIOUR BEFOREHAND" in big red letters as a clause to get into Heaven.
This article discusses whole thing more eloquently than I:
