You'll want to heavily soften the edges of the blood seeping into the water. We should not be able to see its outlines so clearly, preferably at all.

You should use @Vioxtar's technique for water, use the mirror version of gm_black, and once in photoshop, distort the reflection with photoshop's tools to the point where it looks like small waves.
